Amusement Parks

Amusement parks may not be the first things that pop in your head when you think of visiting Hawaii. After all, this is the state with active volcanoes, amazing history, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. That said, there are also some pretty awesome Hawaii amusement parks, and we think those visiting the state should seriously consider taking the time to check out at least one of these awesome parks.

Not sure where to begin researching amusement parks in Hawaii? You’ve come to the right place! Below is everything you need to know.

Hawaii Amusement Parks

Water parks are incredibly popular in Hawaii. This makes sense considering the state’s warmer weather patterns, and any one of the water parks the area has to offer is sure to leave a smile on your face. Of course, there are a couple of other great options as well, and these are equally exciting to visit.

Below are our top picks when it comes to amusement parks in Hawaii:

  1. Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa
  2. Wet’n’Wild Hawaii
  3. Sea Life Park
  4. Maui Golf & Sports Park
  5. Xtreme 7D Dark Rides
Aulani

Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa

Aulani is a beachside resort hotel located in Kapolei, and happens to be owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company. As is the case with all of their properties, this place is incredibly well themed, meticulously maintained, and very, very fun.

Not only do guests of this resort have access to an absolutely gorgeous Hawaiian beach, they can also dine with Disney characters, play in the kids’ club, enjoy activities like movie nights, live music, and nature walks, and they can even learn to play ukulele and hula dance.

Perhaps the best thing about Aulani is the fact that it plays host to six spectacular pools. These pools include things like water slides, a lazy river, a kids’ splash zone, and more. Essentially, the resort offers access to a full-fledged water park!

Unfortunately, Aulani does not offer day passes to their water park amenities or any of their other activities. They also don’t have any RV camping onsite. This means you must get a resort room in order to enjoy all this spot has to offer. Still, you can park your RV nearby, pay for a single night at the resort, and return to RV camping as soon as the fun is done.

Sand Island State Recreation Area — The closest RV camping option, Sand Island State Recreation Area is located about 30 minutes away from Aulani. Camping is available Friday through Sunday, and a permit is required. There are no hookups available, but potable water is offered onsite, as is a dump station.

Wet ‘n’ Wild parks are located in several places across the US. Surprisingly, one of those places is the state of Hawaii. This park is located in Kapolei, making it easy for tourists to access. It sits on 29 acres and offers over 25 attractions, making it the biggest option for water park fun in the state.

Many consider Wet ‘n’ Wild to be the best family attraction in Hawaii, and when you visit you’ll understand why. The park’s many attractions vary from a baby play area to intense thrill slides, meaning there truly is something for everyone.

Some of our favorite offerings in this awesome theme park include the Volcano and the Tornado. That said, you should definitely visit for yourself to decide which you prefer.

Bellows Field Beach Park — As the name suggests, this park is located right on the beach. 50 campsites are available, and although none have hookups, comfort stations are provided. It’s important to note that this campground is only open on the weekends due to the park also serving as a military training area.
