“RVshare has provided us with a lot of benefits in our life.” — Interview with an RVshare Owner

Uncategorized

We love hearing from our owners! Our goal is to be a partner to help RV owners earn income from their RVs when they aren’t in use. Renting out your RV is a great way to offset the costs of ownership and avoid storage fees. Here we had a chat with Thomas who shares his experience listing his RV with RVshare.

Listing an RV Rental with RVshare

How did you hear about RVshare?

Had a listing in 2017 and found RVshare on the internet!

Can you walk us through listing, booking, and communicating with RVshare?

We have the instant book feature which is a wonderful thing because it takes a lot of the back and forth out of the process between us and the renter! I love the ability to have renters immediately book and welcome them to our RV. Love the immediacy of the messaging process. Making sure we are timely with renters and understanding the renter’s perspective. My first experience renting an RV was in 1993 through a newspaper and RVshare improves on that process.

Can you tell us about running a business through RVshare? What do you think has helped you be successful?

One thing off the top of my head is the template you have set forth is very comprehensive and helps us not forget different aspects of the business regarding rules and restrictions. We had an RV renter take our RV to Burning Man and destroy it but in the 6 years since our first time on the platform, we feel much more comfortable in those situations with the features you guys provide. The vetting process helps a lot in feeling comfortable. We could not afford an RV without RVshare which offsets a lot of the cost!

What is the ultimate goal you’d like to achieve with your RV rental business?

Decided to go into it again to get extra income to cover some expenses beyond the RV. Potentially growing our business a bit once we use RVshare to pay off our RV.

Benefits of an RV Rental Business

Beyond the income, what has the RVshare experience done for you/your family?

RVshare has provided us with a lot of benefits in our life. It let us give a job to our daughter by cleaning and prepping the RV and paying her with the profits. It also helps offset the cost of the RV and provides us with extra income with the current economy. The biggest benefit to our family is the ability to own an RV and travel together!

What advice do you have for owners interested in listing their RV on RVshare?

We have stocked the RV a lot better than before. Providing an almost all-inclusive experience. Added wifi to the RV and a Roku. Added premium amenities and added nice sheets, towels, and essentials for any cooking. Filled it with the standards and more in the RV. Make sure you communicate with renters and get feedback from renters and utilize that feedback to make future renters’ experience better. The little bit of expense has added more value to our listing. A lot of the ideas we had were through RVshare listings and combined a lot of listings together to create our value.

What specifically do you like about RVshare?

I love the expanse of RVshares template laid out for business owners. It covers everything you can think of and more! Instant book makes the process very easy for us as well. We also love hosting guests in our RV!

Have you enjoyed any types of personal and family experiences in your RVs?

10-page list in Utah of things you can do within 400 miles. The very first RV we rented we took it down to El Paso Texas, and Carlsbad and came up the west coast of California. The reason we decided to get back into the RV rental business was to prepare for our family trip to Texas for the eclipse. RVs provide the ideal travel experience because you are comfortable, you can see, and stop everywhere you’d ever want. Most truck stops allow you to stop and rest for free. Growing up one of my favorite things to do in the RV is play cards!

In your location what events, festivals, or seasonal opportunities do you see as a frequent request from renters?

There are tons of State and national parks within a 400-mile radius and having an RV makes these parks accessible.

What special experiences do you offer renters to set you apart from other owners?

Wifi… it lets renters have access to the internet and the ability to work during their trip. Roku entertainment package and have it set up for the customer’s specific accounts.
