Yep, there are some pretty great amusement parks in New Mexico. In this article, we’re going to discuss the best of these theme parks so you can choose one or two (or more!) to add to your New Mexico adventures.

Cliff’s Amusement Park and WaterMania
Cliff’s Amusement Park in Albuquerque has been around since 1959, and has been offering locals and visitors an awesome time ever since. The park includes both traditional amusement park attractions and a waterpark area. This is awesome because it means you can cool off during the hot summer months and then continue having a great time even as the weather cools a bit.
There are over 50 rides and attractions at Cliff’s Amusement Park. Some of the best ones include the spinning and swooping Downdraft, the looping Fire Ball coaster, and the New Mexico Rattler coaster, which was voted one of the top 15 wooden roller coasters in the world. Kids love the carousel, and families enjoy riding the Sea Dragon swing-style ride together.
WaterMania is its own separate area and includes plenty of splashing fun for kids. Mega Water Monkeys is an awesome water playground for older kids. Here, you’ll find slides, interactive water features, a dump bucket, and more. Younger swimmers might prefer Li’l Squirts, a water play area for toddlers and preschoolers.

Enchanted Trails RV Park and Trading Post — Wondering where to park your RV once you arrive in Albuquerque? We love Enchanted Trails RV Park and Trading Post. This lovely little park is right off the highway and offers full-hookup sites. The bathrooms are clean and well kept, and the lodge is comfy and welcoming. A pool is also available during the summer months. Best of all, the people here are friendly and helpful.

Planning Your Trip to Cliff’s Amusement Park and WaterMania
Single-day tickets to Cliff’s Amusement Park are $33.99 for those ages 8–64. Kids ages 3–7 pay $28.99 and seniors get in for $23.99. There are lots of add-on options as well. These include a refill cup that gives you 99-cent refills and Fun Cards for making purchases in the park (the park is cashless). All tickets include both traditional amusement rides and the waterpark fun.
Snacks may be brought into the park. That said, large coolers, restaurant foods, and birthday cakes are not allowed. Wheelchair and stroller rentals are available, as are lockers. Parking is free.
Western Playland
Located in Sunland Park, Western Playland is a fun place to take the kids for a fun day out. This is a 30-acre New Mexico amusement park that includes a wide variety of rides and attractions, meaning it’s easy to find something to please each member of the family while here.
The newest and most thrilling ride at Western Playland is the awesome Fireball roller coaster. That said, this is far from the only fun ride in the park. Thrill seekers will also want to check out the spinning and swinging El Loco, the Drop Zone drop ride, and the Hurricane roller coaster.
Visiting with little ones? They will appreciate the Granny Bugs, the U-Boats, the U-Cars, and the U-Buggies. Families love to ride the train and Sky Glider, as well as the classic Merry-Go-Round.

As mentioned above, RV camping is the best way to go when visiting New Mexico. Taking an RV allows you to stay in complete comfort, even if you are parked in the middle of the desert with no amenities. That said, we highly recommend staying at the following RV park when visiting Western Playland.
Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino — Honestly, this RV park is not much more than a place to park on casino property with water and electric hookups. That said, it is in an awesome location for visiting the amusement park and the price truly cannot be beat. There is a dump station available, and security is roaming 24 hours a day.

The cost to visit Western Playland is set up a bit differently. Guests can choose to buy a Pay One Price (POP) Bracelet that gives them access to all rides, or they can simply pay $5 for admission and buy individual ride tickets as they need them. POP Bracelets are $27.65 for those 42 inches and taller. There are Junior Bracelets available for those 34–41 inches tall for $18.49. These give youngsters access to a handful of kiddie rides. Kids under 34 inches tall enter for free.
Outside food and drinks are not allowed in the park, but food is available for purchase.
Carlsbad Waterpark
Looking for some waterpark fun while in the state? Carlsbad Waterpark in Carlsbad is an excellent pick. Not only does this well-kept little park offer all kinds of splashing attractions, it’s also right around the corner from Carlsbad Caverns National Park and not too far from Guadalupe Mountains National Park—both of which are excellent RV destinations!
For older kids and adults, Carlsbad Waterpark features four twisting, looping slides that are sure to provide the adrenaline rush you’re looking for. Meanwhile, those with kids in tow will appreciate the small kiddie water play area, which is complete with tiny slides just for the youngsters.
A lazy river allows swimmers to float and relax while soaking up the sun. Meanwhile, a swimming pool gives visitors a place to play.
RV Camping Near Carlsbad Waterpark
Obviously, you will want to take your RV on your Carlsbad adventure. This ensures you sleep in comfort and can dine on your favorite foods for your entire stay. It also allows you to hop from one place to another easily.
Bud’s Place RV Park — One of the best places to stay in an RV in Carlsbad is Bud’s Place RV Park. The staff here is happy to accommodate guests in any way they can. The sites are big-rig friendly, flat, and offer full hookups. The dog park is perfect for those who travel with a pet, and laundry facilities and clean restrooms are available.

One of the very best things about Carlsbad Waterpark is the cost of admission. It’s one of the cheapest of the New Mexico amusement parks. Visitors can expect to pay just $5 to enter the park. Not only that, but kids under 4 years of age and those 62 and older enter for free!
Restrooms are available and a concession stand sells snacks. Outside food is permitted and there are plenty of places to sit and eat.
Adventure Mountain Family Fun Center
Looking to have fun in Ruidoso? Adventure Mountain Family Fun Center is just the spot. This awesome amusement park is chock-full of things to do, including many indoor attractions that are ideal when the weather is less than stellar.
Indoor activities at Adventure Mountain are varied and there is something for all ages. Bazooka Ball is a cross between paintball and laser tag, and is a favorite of many. Meanwhile, others prefer the laser maze, glow golf, or bumper bars. Another fun inside attraction? The mirror maze, which is sure to leave you feeling dizzy (in a fun way).
Want to head outdoors? You’ll be happy to find many favorites out there. The batting cages are fun for baseball fans, and climbers will appreciate the rock wall. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, try the ropes course, and don’t forget to let the little ones ride the kiddie go-karts!

Midtown Mountain Campground and RV Park — Easily one of the best places to park an RV in Ruidoso, Midtown Mountain Campground and RV Park is a great pick. This park is just minutes from Adventure Mountain and offers level, full-hookup sites that are big enough for even the largest rigs. Many deer call this woodsy campground home, so you’re sure to spot some while you’re there.

The cost of visiting Adventure Mountains depends entirely upon what you plan to do there. The per attraction cost is $2.50–$10, and arcade games start at just 50 cents.

Hinkle Family Fun Center
Another fantastic family fun center can be found in Albuquerque. Hinkle Family Fun Center is everything you could want from such an attraction and more. Whether you prefer arcade fun, rides, or something else entirely, you’re likely to find it here.
Some favorite attractions at Hinkle Family Fun Center include the XD Dark Ride, which allows guests to interact with a 4D movie, and the super awesome Light Space, a fun game played with lights. Those who enjoy a challenge are sure to appreciate Lazer Frenzy and the rock climbing wall. Meanwhile, families will enjoy the bumper boats, the bumper cars, and the mini golf course together.

RV Camping Near Hinkle Family Fun Center
Not sure where to stay when visiting Hinkle Family Fun Center? Obviously, your RV is a good choice, but where will you park it? Fortunately, there are plenty of RV camping options in Albuquerque. If the aforementioned RV park in the city isn’t your cup of tea, consider the one below.
Coronado Village — This park offers nice, shady sites with full hookups. It’s a gated park and has nice amenities such as concrete patios, a dog walking area, a swimming pool, and a clean laundry room. Of course, the location in Albuquerque is pretty fantastic as well!

As is the case with most family fun centers, those visiting Hinkle Family Fun Center can pay per attraction. The cost is $9 for most attractions. Want unlimited play? Pay $43 for the Ultimate Play Pass and you can use most of the attractions as many times as you like throughout the day!
Food is available at the onsite cafe, so plan to grab a snack or meal while you’re there.
Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park
Yet another great place to have a good time in Albuquerque, Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park offers indoor adventures that can be enjoyed any time of year. Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy bouncing at this park, and the additional adventures are just a cherry on top of an already amazing thing.
Obviously, the trampolines are the main attraction at Urban Air. These are down low, up high, on the walls, and everywhere in between. Some trampolines are just for bouncing, others are for games, and all are an amazing time.
When you get tired of jumping on trampolines, you’ll definitely want to check out the other things the park has to offer. These include a playground for littles, a Warrior Course, a Battle Beam, a Climbing Hill, and even Skydiving. If you’re looking for an adventure, this is certainly a good place to be!
RV Camping Near Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park
After a day of jumping, you will definitely want to go home to someplace comfortable. This is where your RV comes into play. Bring your trailer or motorhome along and you’ll have all the comforts of home wherever you roam.
Albuquerque Central KOA — We’ve mentioned a couple of great RV parks in Albuquerque already, but Albuquerque Central KOA deserves a mention too. As is the case with most KOA parks, this campground is incredibly clean and well-kept and features some great amenities. Full hookups, a dog park, a pool, a jump pad, and more make this an excellent place to call home for a few days!

There are three different admission levels at Urban Air. These include Deluxe, Ultimate, and Platinum. Each ticket level gives the holder access to a specific set of attractions, and prices range from $23.99 to $46.49. Kids aged 5 and under cost only $11.99 to get in, and parents who wish to play get a nicely discounted rate.
Note that you will need Urban Air socks in order to jump. These cost an additional $3.49, but you can use Urban Air socks from a previous visit.
Park Lake
Located in Santa Rosa, Park Lake is an unusual sort of water park. You see, the whole thing is set on a natural body of water, meaning you can get your nature fix and your waterpark fix simultaneously! Better yet, it’s just a quarter-mile away from the beautiful Blue Hole swimming hole and not far from Santa Rosa Lake State Park, meaning you’ll have plenty to do while in the area.
The main attraction at Park Lake is the inflatable obstacle course that sits in the middle of the lake. This awesome play space features a bounce house, climbing wall, and slide, all floating on top of the water.
Other attractions at Park Lake include a large water slide, a diving board, and plenty of great picnic areas.
RV Camping Near Park Lake
Clearly, you will want to spend your escape into nature camping. This doesn’t mean you have to be uncomfortable though. Simply pack up the RV and you’re all set to have some outdoor fun while still enjoying all the comforts of home.
Santa Rosa Lake State Park – Rocky Point Campground — When it comes to places to stay in your RV in Santa Rosa, we have to recommend Santa Rosa Lake State Park’s Rocky Point Campground. This lovely state park campground is just minutes from Park Lake and offers both water and electric hookups. There is a lake onsite and the rates are super awesome!

The cost to visit Park Lake is $15 per swimmer. Parking is an additional $10 per vehicle per day. Outside food is allowed at the park and showers are available for those who’d like to rinse off.
Bisti Bay at Brookside Park
Hoping for another spot to get in some waterpark adventures? Bisti Bay at Brookside Park in Farmington is a small, city-run water park that is chock-full of fun for swimmers of all ages. It’s definitely a great place to spend a hot summer day and we highly recommend adding it to your New Mexico trip itinerary.
The two large water slides are the first things to catch your attention when arriving at Bisti Bay. These slides are great for older kids, teens, and even adults. Meanwhile, younger children will appreciate the in-pool playground and its smaller slide and dump bucket.
Those looking to relax will love all of the seating that is available around the pool, as well as the lovely, slow-moving lazy river. Of course, kids who are looking to splash and play will like the large pool, as well as the opportunity to play water sports.
RV Camping Near Bisti Bay at Brookside Park
You will definitely want to take your RV on your adventure to Farmington. The town is very RV-friendly and has a few different options when it comes to RV camping. Best of all, you’ll be able to return to your own home-on-wheels when the day is done.
Bluffview RV Park — Our favorite Farmington RV campground is Bluffview RV Park. While the park doesn’t have a whole lot of frills, it is well cared for and offers level sites with full hookups. The staff here are happy to help you out, and the location is wonderful!

Weekend day passes to Bisti Bay are just $6 per person, and those aged 2 and under enter for free. Those looking to enter during the week will need to buy a punch card or seasonal pass.
