That’s right, there are a number of really great amusement parks in Maine, and we think they’re all worth visiting. That said, nobody has time to visit all of the amusement parks in a state in a single trip. That’s why we wrote this article.
Below, you’ll find all of our very favorite Maine amusement parks, as well as the information you need to plan some epic trips to each of them.

Whether you prefer the slipping and sliding fun found in a theme park or the coasters and other dry rides found at a more traditional amusement park, there are Maine amusement parks out there for you. Funtown Splashtown USA
Of all the Maine amusement parks, Funtown Splashtown USA is probably the most popular. This park in Saco is celebrating 55 years of entertaining families, and boy, have they done a wonderful job of making sure the whole family has a great time. In fact, we’re willing to bet every single member of your family will be wearing a smile during their time here.
The Funtown section of the park is a traditional amusement park. Rides include coasters, a carousel, antique cars, and a whole slew of kiddie rides. This area opens earlier in the season and closes later, and it’s the perfect place to go if you want to have a fun time but don’t necessarily want to don your bathing suit.
As you might imagine though, the Splashtown section absolutely does require you to put on that swimsuit. This area of the park features a number of amazing slides—some thrilling, others more relaxed, but all are loads of fun. Pools can also be found in this area so you can relax in the water after hitting the slides.
RV Camping Near Funtown Splashtown USA
Planning to take your RV with you to see Funtown Splashtown? This is a very good idea, especially if you plan to stay long enough to visit both of the theme parks mentioned so far. The aforementioned KOA is a great choice for those visiting Funtown Splashtown, but we also like the park below.
Bayley’s Camping Resort — This lovely camping resort is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the camping life. Not only is this resort clean and well kept, the sites also offer hookups, ensuring you have a comfortable stay. Amenities such as pools, hot tubs, organized activities, and an onsite cafe also aid in keeping everyone happy, and the location cannot be beat.

Combo one-day tickets to Funtown Splashtown are $50 for adults (or anyone taller than 48” really), $38 for kids 38”–48” tall, and $38 for seniors. If you wish to visit Funtown only, you can expect to pay $42 for adults and $34 for kids and seniors. Finally, those who only want to see the water park will pay $39 for adults and $34 for all others. Season passes are also available.
While there are a variety of onsite dining options, outside food and drink are also allowed. Parking is free, and stroller and wheelchair rentals are available.
Aquaboggan Waterpark
Celebrating over 40 years as one of the best Maine amusement parks, Aquaboggan is an excellent place to go to cool off and have some summer fun. This Saco amusement park has something for everyone in your family, meaning you can have fun together and make some awesome memories of your time in Maine.
Attractions in this park include the legendary Yankee Ripper water slide, racing slides, tube slides, and a number of other awesome slides for the thrill seekers in your group. Bumpin’ Boats are a great option for those looking for less-thrilling attractions, and the slippery half-dome known as the Aquasaucer offers an exciting climbing and sliding experience. We also love the wave pool and toddler play area found in the water play part of the park.
Hoping to find a way to dry off before you leave? The onsite mini golf course is a super fun way to do just that. Of course, the go-karts are another fantastic option that will be appreciated by those with a need for speed.
RV Camping Near Aquaboggan Waterpark
RV camping is always the way to go when it comes to finding lodging. Saco has several great RV campgrounds to choose from, and staying in an RV means you’ll have plenty of room to spread out. One of our favorite places to park in the Saco area is mentioned below.

Planning Your Trip to Aquaboggan Waterpark
General admission to Aquaboggan is $8 for a single day. Those under four feet tall get a small discount and will pay only $23. Toddlers under 38 inches are charged just $6, and seniors need only pay $20 to enter.
Don’t plan to slide or ride? The Walk Pass is only $15 and allows you to enter the park without enjoying the attractions. Meanwhile, the Super Pass gives you unlimited access to every attraction in the park for $38.
Outside food is allowed in this park and picnic areas are available. There is also a snack bar inside the park. Parking is always free and lockers are available for rent.
Palace Playland
Located in Old Orchard Beach, Palace Playland is another fantastic Maine amusement park. This is a traditional amusement park that has been up and running since 1902! When you spend some time in the park you’ll understand why, as it is absolutely fantastic.
There are rides for all in Palace Playland. Kiddie rides include such classics as a carousel, flying elephants, tea cups, and a giant slide. Meanwhile, the park boasts such family rides as bumper cars, a Ferris wheel, swings, and a tilt-a-whirl. Lastly, there are thrill rides such as coasters, the pirate ship, and more.
Want to find even more fun after riding all the rides? Be sure to check out the arcade found in the park. This arcade is one of the largest in New England and features over 200 games, as well as a huge prize counter that allows you to trade in tickets earned from playing for fun toys.

There’s nothing quite as wonderful as camping by the beach. For this reason, we highly recommend taking an RV on your Palace Playland vacation. You’ll be able to fully relax while you enjoy all the beach and Maine amusement park have to offer.

Anyone can enter Palace Playland without purchasing a ticket. However, anybody looking to enjoy rides will need to buy individual ride tickets, a ticket book, or an unlimited day pass. Single tickets start at just $1.60, and each ride requires between two and five tickets. Buying a ticket book will give you a small discount on ride tickets, and an unlimited pass for $42 ($36 for little kids) is an excellent deal if you plan to stay all day.
Food is available in the park, and this theme park is located on the beachfront, meaning you can enjoy a beach day during your getaway as well.
Seacoast Adventure
Next on our list of Maine amusement parks is Seacoast Adventure in Windham. This super fun spot offers seasonal outdoor fun, so you can take advantage of the weather, no matter what it may be. We love this because it means the park is even open in winter, offering families fun times even when the sun doesn’t shine.
Summer attractions at Seacoast Adventure include mini golf and go-karts. The Sky Swing is a 100-foot-tall swing that is sure to give thrill seekers the adrenaline rush they’re looking for. Meanwhile, the Shipwreck Cove Water Playground allows little visitors to have a blast sliding, spraying, and cooling off in the water.
When it comes to wintertime fun, Seacoast Adventure offers some absolutely fantastic snow tubing. Kids and adults alike are sure to have a blast slipping and sliding down the park’s snowy hills. When you’re done, be sure to finish up with hot cocoa or coffee from Deck House Coffee Shop.

Want to add to your adventure at Seacoast Adventure? RV Camping is the perfect way to make your trip more exciting without sacrificing the comfort you’re sure to want after a long day of outdoor activities. Fortunately, there are some good camping options nearby.
Point Sebago RV Resort — Our favorite campground in the area is Point Sebago RV Resort. This place boasts a lovely swimming beach as well as a nice boating area. An onsite restaurant keeps the whole family well fed, and adults love the tiki bar. Of course, the well-kept full-hookup sites are nice as well.

There is no fee to enter Seacoast Adventure. Instead, guests pay for the individual activities they choose to enjoy while there. Tubing is $30 per person, or $46 for a parent and child together. Meanwhile, the summer activities range in price from $7.50 to $18, with an option to purchase a multi pass to save a bit of money.
Onsite dining is available at both the aforementioned Deck House Coffee Shop and the Deck House Sports Tavern full-service eatery.
Wild Acadia
Not only is Trenton’s Wild Acadia a full-fledged outdoor adventure amusement park, it’s also a wonderful campground. This means you can stay where you play and never miss a moment of the fun this park has to offer. Considering how much this Maine amusement park has going on, that’s really saying something.
The mini golf course is well-manicured and the perfect way to reconnect as a family. Meanwhile, those with a sense of adventure will definitely want to make time for the 800-foot zip line. Another great option for adventurous individuals? The rope course! This course takes you through the tops of the trees, allowing you to see the forest form a new point of view.
Of course, you’ll also want to try out the rock climbing wall, as well as the super fun Jump Shot attraction that lets you slam dunk like the pros by using a trampoline to get some air.
Looking for water fun? This park has that too. Slide enthusiasts will appreciate that the place has eastern Maine’s largest water slides, and little ones will love the brand new water play area that includes a dump bucket and two smaller slides. The water balloon catapult is also hugely popular.

Wonder Mountain Fun Park
Located in Wells, Wonder Mountain Fun Park is another family fun center that is sure to have everyone in your group feeling happy. We love that this park is located within walking distance of an amazing RV park and right by all of the other attractions found in the town of Wells, making it easy to work this adorable Maine amusement park into your plans.
The main attraction at this Maine park are the two well-themed, well-kept mini golf courses. Both courses feature all kinds of fun scenery and obstacles, making playing putt-putt here a fun experience for the entire family. Can’t decide which course to try? We recommend giving both a go to see which one you like best.
Looking for more excitement while at Wonder Mountain? The arcade is a fantastic place to get some kicks. The go-kart track is another super fun option that is sure to make the thrill seekers in your group happy, and the giant maze is a hit with the problem solvers out there.

York’s Wild Kingdom
Last but not least, we have to mention York’s Wild Kingdom in York Beach. This small fun park is part-zoo, part-amusement-park, and 100% awesome. Not only that, this is the only zoo and amusement park combo in the state of Maine, making it a must-visit while you’re in the area.
Animals in this zoo include a wide variety of species. Visitors love checking out the sloths and kangaroos, and the many different kinds of monkeys are lots of fun to watch. Butterfly Kingdom is another popular spot, featuring all kinds of beautiful butterflies and giving guests a chance to get up close and personal with them.
As far as amusement park rides go, expect to find kiddie rides such as a train and merry-go-round as well as family rides like the super slide and bumper cars.
