Montezuma Castle National Monument

Montezuma Castle National Monument became a national monument in 1906. It is known as one of the first four national historic sites that were designated by President Roosevelt. You will not have access to the dwelling in the cliff, but there are various viewpoints and a trail that give you a picturesque view of the Montezuma Castle National Monument. There are 20 rooms that can be seen in the five-story dwelling in Camp Verde. The building is about 70 feet above the ground and was built this way to protect settlers from floods.
