Arguably the most famous and coveted trophy in all of sports, the Stanley Cup is awarded to the winner of the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup Final best-of-seven playoff series. Every young hockey player dreams of holding up the Cup over his head and skating around the arena ice at the end of the Stanley Cup Final. The trophy is named after Frederick Arthur Stanley, the Lord Stanley of Preston, who served as Governor General of Canada during the years 1888-1893. Stanley was an avid hockey fan who donated the first-ever trophy as a prize for Canada's best amateur hockey club. In 1926, the Cup became the official championship trophy of the NHL.
There are actually three Cups. The original Cup, which was created in 1892, is known as the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup. Its home is the Vault Room at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. A Presentation Cup was created in 1963 to preserve the original Cup. The third Cup was created in 1993 to be displayed at the Hall of Fame when the Presentation Cup is on tour.

The locations of the two arenas will be determined by the two conference-winning teams.

Just about all the team arenas will feature lots of similar amenities. These include official team merchandise stores, bars and restaurants, lost-and-found services, ATMs, elevators and escalators, disability services, and sensory pods or rooms.
The team with more regular season points will have the home-ice advantage for the Stanley Cup Final. The series' format is 2-2-1-1-1. The team with home ice will host the first, second, fifth, and seventh games. The team without home ice will host games three, four, and six. The locations for the 2025 Cup Final will be determined when one team wins the Eastern Conference and one team wins the Western Conference.
You won't find RV campgrounds next to hockey arenas. However, you'll have better luck in outlying areas of cities as well as suburbs. Note that as of the 2024-2025 NHL season, there are seven teams located in Canada. If you want to travel up to the Great White North to see a favorite team play, be sure to familiarize yourself with entry requirements and other rules pertaining to international travel.
The NHL's expansion in the last three decades took it to places unheard of when the Original Six teams were all the league consisted of. There are franchises in Florida, Texas, Nevada, and California. However, ice hockey is still primarily a Northern and winter sport, with the regular season held from October to April. Drive carefully in your RV during the colder months and discover great tips for winter camping.
NHL teams are in many of the usual larger cities of both the United States and Canada. As such, there will be lots of accommodation options in these areas. It pays to do your homework, though, before traveling to a particular location. For example, Las Vegas, home of the Golden Knights, hosts large conventions throughout the year, causing many of the hotels to book up solid.
You'll be able to plan your trip to either one or both cities once the teams have been determined. Instead of trying to drive your RV in heavy city traffic, park it at your site and take public transportation or ride-share service to the arena.
Get ready to pay a lot if you want to park in a lot close to an arena. As mentioned above, it might make more sense, and cost you a lot less, if you leave your vehicle at your location and find other means of transportation to the event.
Check your favorite team's site, the NHL site, or sites like StubHub to find Cup Final tickets once they go on sale.
Travel with your RV rental to see your favorite squad lace 'em up and hit the ice. The Cup itself has its own X/Twitter account, which gets more active the closer the league gets to the postseason.
