Fiesta Bowl
The 2026 Vrbo Fiesta Bowl brings college football playoff energy back to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The game takes place on December 30, 2026, and for RV travelers, the timing couldn't be better. The Phoenix metro in late December is warm and genuinely pleasant, with desert day trips, golf, hiking and plenty of great restaurants to fill a week. One football game can turn into a full Arizona getaway without much effort.
ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT
The Fiesta Bowl is the main event, but the area around State Farm Stadium makes it easy to build a full trip. Westgate Entertainment District sits near the stadium and has restaurants, bars, shopping, outdoor gathering areas and entertainment. Fiesta Bowl week often includes official fan events, pregame parties and community events from the Fiesta Sports Foundation. If you have extra time, our Phoenix RV travel guide can help you turn your Fiesta Bowl stop into a longer Southwest road trip.
ON-SITE AMENITIES
When you're hungry at the stadium, you've got some great options to choose from. Grab a classic at Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers or swing by Someburros, Honey Bears BBQ, Pork on a Fork or Touchdown Tortilla for a taste of Arizona flavor. You'll also find ADA parking, courtesy cart service, wheelchair escorts, accessible restrooms and family restrooms to make your experience smooth. There's a sensory room right near the Guest Services Booth at Section 104, and privacy and nursing rooms are available when you need them.
LOCATION
State Farm Stadium is located at 1 Cardinals Drive, Glendale, AZ 85305. The stadium is just off Loop 101 between Cardinals Way and Glendale Avenue. Glendale is west of Phoenix and works well as a base for exploring the valley. Nearby communities include Peoria, Surprise, Avondale, Goodyear and west Phoenix. If you want to add a scenic day trip, consider White Tank Mountain Regional Park, Lake Pleasant Regional Park or the Apache Trail area.
RVING AT THE EVENT
State Farm Stadium is in Glendale's Sports and Entertainment District. RV travel works well for the Fiesta Bowl because several Phoenix-area RV parks sit within driving distance of the stadium. For game day, most RVers will have the easiest experience by setting up at a campground before heading to the stadium by rideshare, shuttle or a smaller vehicle. When it comes to reserving a spot at a nearby RV campground, book early. Late December is peak snowbird season in Arizona, and a CFP Quarterfinal is not going to make availability any easier.
Where to Camp Near the Fiesta Bowl
Desert's Edge RV Park in Phoenix is a full-service option with a heated pool, hot tub and dog parks. It also has laundry facilities, Wi-Fi and full-hookup sites with 30- and 50-amp service. Desert Sands RV Park, also in Phoenix, offers a quieter atmosphere with desert surroundings, full-hookup RV sites and access to basic campground amenities. Leaf Verde RV Community in Buckeye is farther west, but delivers full hookups, Wi-Fi, a heated pool, pickleball courts, a dog park and a resort-style setup outside the most congested parts of metro Phoenix.
RV Rental Tips for the Fiesta Bowl
Look for RV rentals near Glendale if you want to pick up a rig locally instead of driving one across multiple states. For navigating the Phoenix metro, smaller RVs have a clear advantage. A Class B campervan is a smart choice for RVers who want something nimble for errands and restaurant runs. A Class C motorhome provides more sleeping space, a real bathroom, a kitchen and enough room to hang out between events. If this is your first time RVing to an event, read our first-time RV rental tips before booking. Late December in Glendale is pleasant during the day and noticeably cooler after sunset. Pack layers, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses and a jacket for evening tailgating or postgame traffic. The desert temperature swing often catches visitors off guard.
WHERE TO STAY
If you can't get a space at your preferred RV campground, there are excellent hotels to consider. Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa is one of the closest full-service options and sits in the Westgate area near the stadium. Aloft Glendale at Westgate is another walkable choice near State Farm Stadium and Westgate amenities. For suite-style stays, Home2 Suites by Hilton Phoenix Glendale-Westgate is located across the street from State Farm Stadium.
