Rent an RV

Get ready for sunny weather and three full days of music — the Tortuga Music Festival is coming to Florida. Over three days in November, this country, rock and roots festival draws huge crowds to its oceanfront stage in Fort Lauderdale. With the festival's great mix of big-name artists and up-and-coming performers, you can hear old favorites and discover new singers. Come for the tunes, and stick around for the beach activities. Interested in conservation? You’ll love the festival’s secondary goal, which is to raise awareness about the issues that impact the planet’s oceans.

ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT

Between concerts, there’s plenty to do at the music festival. If you’re enjoying the sunshine, stick around the stage area. Need to cool off? Exit the festival gates, and enjoy a dip in the ocean, or head to one of the many delicious food and drink vendors for a snack. There are lockers on-site, so you can stash your bigger bags safely during the day.

Since the Tortuga Music Festival partners with Rock the Ocean, one of the most exciting things to do between concerts is to pop over to Conservation Village. Here, you’ll find a variety of activities related to conservation. You can plant a sea oat on the beach, bid on exciting prizes in the auction or even try the sustainable meals from Green Gourmet. The best part? Many of the artists at the festival pop by the village for impromptu concerts.

ON-SITE AMENITIES

In the Festival: There will be an ADA viewing platform near the Main Stage, along with ADA restrooms throughout the venue. In addition, all VIP areas are fully accessible. Please visit the Guest Services booth upon arrival and the team will get you taken care of.

There are plentiful port-a-johns and handwashing stations on-site for General Admission patrons. For VIP, SVIP, and Cabana pass holders air-conditioned, flushable restrooms are provided.

RVING AT THE EVENT

The Tortuga Music Festival takes place in the middle of the oceanfront action in Fort Lauderdale, so the festival doesn’t make any special provisions for RVs. If you want to bring your own RV or secure an RV rental from RVshare, there are plenty of spots within an hour of the park.

About 12 miles northwest of the festival, Paradise Island RV Resort and Kozy Kampers RV Park offer comfortable RV sites with full hookups, pools and handy pull-through sites for big rigs. To the southwest at Yacht Haven Park and Marina, you can book an RV site with a view of the water. Check out Northcoast Trailer Park if you’re planning to bring a boat along for the weekend. A little farther south in Hollywood, you can find the Hollywood KOA and Embassy RV Park. Each of these parks accepts reservations, so book as early as possible to be guaranteed a site for the festival.

Are you looking to experience Florida’s nature while you’re in town for the Tortuga Music Festival? Park your RV under the trees at Easterlin Park. With its playground, basketball court and nature trail, it has plenty to keep your whole family entertained.

WHERE TO STAY

If you’re not RVing to the festival and staying at an area campground, you’ll find hotels all along the beach to the north and south. The closest option is Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale, which is right across the street from the park. Courtyard By Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach is another nearby option. About a mile to the south, a cluster of hotels sits near Burnham Point. North of Las Olas Beach, there’s a long line of hotels at a variety of price points.

The Tortuga Music Festival offers a booking service through its website. When you choose this option, a portion of your bill will be donated to the conservation efforts of Rock the Ocean. Looking for convenience and a bit of luxury? Book one of the festival’s hotel packages, which include VIP access, upgraded restrooms, snacks, drinks and more.

HOW TO GET THERE

The easiest way to get to the Tortuga Music Festival is by public transportation or ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft. It’s important to leave your RV behind as the beachfront road that leads to the festival is extremely crowded. There are tight turns, narrow streets and overhangs that make it difficult to maneuver a large vehicle.

If you’re in an RV, consider leaving it in a parking lot or a big-box store parking lot along Interstate 95 to the west. Then, take a ride-share to the park. At Exit 27, there’s a Walmart Supercenter less than a half-mile west of I-95. From here, its’s a 7-mile taxi or car-share ride to the festival. Alternatively, you can hop on buses FL3W and 11 or bus 40. Be aware that both bus options take up to an hour depending on traffic.

If you’re bringing a passenger vehicle, getting to the festival is easy. Just hop on the A1A along the ocean, and you’ll pass right by the site.

PARKING

The Tortuga Music Festival doesn’t offer any parking options during the festival. In fact, the organizers suggest that attendees take ride-shares, street taxis or water taxis to the park. If you want to drive, the nearest parking garages are about a mile to the north. Look for the Las Olas Parking Garage or USA Parking. You’ll find more public parking near downtown Fort Lauderdale at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 842. There are some street parking options around the park itself, but they fill up fast.

TICKETS & PRICING

The Tortuga Music Festival offers three different pass options. The best deal is the general admission pass for all three days of the festival. It costs $510 and includes free water refills, unlimited Conservation Village access and entrance to all of the concerts. If you’re only going to be in town for a day, you can buy a one-day pass for $149. Want to go all out? Choose the three-day VIP pass for $2,369. It comes with VIP-area access, free cocktails, pool access, air-conditioned restrooms and more. If you’re a foodie, this is a great option as it enables you to buy snacks and meals from VIP-only food vendors.
