RVING AT THE EVENT

Indianapolis Motor Speedway rents RV camping sites for the entire weekend. Tickets range from $165 to $1,200 with electric hookups costing extra. Amenities include showers, waste pump-out and water delivery.

Some tips for RVers:

If you plan on RVing at the event, note that this stadium only sells four-day tickets and plan accordingly. Consider checking out local attractions if you don't want to stay at the stadium for the whole event. Sites without electricity are cheaper, but you'll have to bring a quiet generator and fuel. Review the lots to determine how much space you'll have and how many outdoor supplies you should bring.

For guests who prefer to stay off-site, there are plenty of RV campgrounds in Indianapolis. Boondocking is free if you stay in a national forest. The state prohibits camping or building a fire within 300 feet of a trailhead.

Lake Haven Retreat has full hookup sites with free cable and Wi-Fi. The campground includes a dog park, playground, dump station, volleyball court, restrooms, and laundry facilities. Call or text to make a reservation.

Indianapolis KOA Holiday offers sites with WiFi and electric hookups, plus access to a pool, snack bar, bike rentals and propane and firewood sales. Order food delivery, pick up ice cream at the camp store, go gem mining or visit the petting zoo.

Indy Lakes rents full hookup sites with access to a fishing pond and bait shop. The campground offers a lodge, a lake house, and fishing competitions throughout the year.
