Hangtown Motocross Classic

The Hangtown Motocross Classic is the second event in the 2025 Motocross Championship. Retail and food vendors will be available at the event. Multiple races and courses will be run during the full length of the day on May 31, so be sure to arrive early to see all of the action.

ON-SITE AMENITIES

There are quite a few amenities for racegoers, as the racing grounds have open-air festival seating with a covered handicapped viewing area and covered Super Ticket Seating and VIP Viewing Areas. There are shaded picnic areas and nearly 100% track viewing from a number of vantage points. You can find an interactive Sponsor Village, concessions, flush restrooms, a children’s play area, and free motorcycle parking with a gear check. The event is simulcast on FM radio.

The Hangtown Motocross Classic takes place at the Hangtown MX track in a suburban area of Sacramento, CA.

RVING AT THE EVENT

Dry RV camping is available for the Hangtown Classic, and it’s a convenient way to attend races while you camp on location. You can watch racing during the day, and head back to your RV at any point to grab a snack, take a nap, or just have a break for a bit. You can choose between Fan Camping and Preferred Camping, which is closer to the track. 

Here are some tips for camping at the Hangtown Motocross Classic:

• Generators are allowed since the campground only offers dry camping, but you must observe quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

• Pets must be leashed at the campground, and they are not allowed in the main event area.

• No campfires are allowed, and no RV dumping or washing is allowed at the campground.

• Campers are expected to keep their campsites clean, and you may not leave trash at your site. Vehicles must be kept within your site’s boundaries. 

• General Camping spaces are 22 feet by 37 feet while Premium Camping spaces are 22 feet by 60 feet, so choose your campsite according to your RV’s size.

WHERE TO STAY

Aside from the campgrounds at the Hangtown Motocross Classic, there are a couple of area hotels to choose from. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to camp with full hookups, check out other campgrounds near Sacramento. 

• Cal Expo RV Park is a campground near the Cal Expo Center, where the annual California State Fair is held. It also has full hookups, accepts pets, and offers access to hiking trails. 

• The Best Western Plus is a hotel off US-50, and it’s just minutes from the motocross location. Each room at the hotel has a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi.

• California Inn & Suites has a hotel located near the motocross track, too, and it has an outdoor pool. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi and kitchen equipment in select rooms.

HOW TO GET THERE

From Highway 50: Exit at Prairie City Road, and head south. Turn right (west) onto White Rock Road, and head to the Main Gate on the left. 

From Highway 16: Exit at White Rock Road, and head northeast. Follow the road until you come to the entrance on the right, Gate A.

From I-5: Take I-5 S toward Sacramento/Yuba City, then take the US-50E exit toward CA-99/Fresno. Take the I-80 BR E exit on the left. Merge onto US-50 E. Follow this to the Prairie City Road exit. Head to White Rock Road, and turn right (west).

PARKING

Parking at this event is free for motorcycle riders. Car parking is also available but is limited to dirt parking, so plan accordingly. 

TICKETS & PRICING

Tickets for this Motocross event range in price, starting at $29.50 for general admission and pro pit access. Higher ticket prices are available for preferred seating and for two-day tickets.
