The AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, presented by Lucas Oil, is a week-long racing event at Loretta Lynn's Ranch that features the best amateur motocross riders in the United States. The American Motorcyclist Association is the world's largest motorcycle organization and has around 200,000 members. The AMA has partnered with MX Sports for more than 35 years, and the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship has been held at Loretta Lynn's Ranch since 1982.

This championship series is the season culmination of several months of Area Qualifiers and Regional Championships. The Qualifiers are the first step in the qualifying process, and the Regional Championships are used to seed the riders for the National Championship. Only the racers who qualify in the Regionals are eligible for the National Championship, which always runs the first week of August. The Qualifiers are played out on historic tracks like Budds Creek Motocross Park and Washougal MX Park, allowing these amateur racers to ride on the same tracks that are included in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship circuit.

Of course, the venue is just as much fun as the races. Loretta Lynn's Ranch is a great destination at any time of the year, and it houses all sorts of historic information on country music in general and Loretta Lynn in particular. ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT

The 2024 schedule for the qualifying race events has been announced, and you can find the schedule at Motorsports Newswire. The schedule for the Championship week will be posted online when it is announced.

The typical format of the races during the Championship week involves racing at the single track at Loretta Lynn's Ranch, which serves as a horse pasture the remainder of the year. The races are three 20-minute motos plus two laps, and riders are able to qualify for up to two classes. The racers will have won their right to compete during the course of riding in qualifying races that began in February of the same year.

RVING AT THE EVENT

The AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship is held at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. This is a campground and RV park that hosts events throughout the year. There are full-hookup RV sites, but for the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship week, these sites are reserved for the racers and their families. There are electric/water RV sites available for fans. The fan camping fees are bundled with the admission fees, and you can find more information on pricing and reservations at the Fan Admission page. If you can't find a spot here, there are other camping options in the area.

Clarksville RV Park and Campground - This campground and RV park is 45 minutes from Nashville and an hour from the city of Hurricane Mills. There are wide, paved roads throughout the park and 75 RV sites. Of those, 55 sites have full hookups, and 50 have 30/50 amps. You can enjoy the sports field, horseshoes and shuffleboard.

Montgomery Bell State Park Campground - This state park has three lakes for plenty of fishing and boating fun and is 45 minutes from Hurricane Mills. The park is well-maintained and has a large conference lodge and restaurant. There are 116 RV sites with 40 full hookup sites. There are lots of hiking trails, some of which circle the lakes. You may even see a beaver!

Nashville Shores RV Resort - Nashville Shores is a large, spread-out RV campground that is near Clarksville and an hour from Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills. It is a resort-style park, and it has a full-size water park and a wading pool. There are hiking and biking trails and plenty of recreational activities for the whole family. There are 84 RV sites, all of which have full hookups, and 25 of the RV sites are pull-through.

David Crockett State Park - This campground has both full and partial hookup sites that are big rig-friendly. Many of them are also pull-through. You can enjoy biking, hiking, fishing, boating, paddle boarding, swimming and many other water activities. There is free Wi-Fi, and pets are allowed. The park is on 1,300 acres, and there are many trails to walk and plenty of wildlife to see.

WHERE TO STAY

HOW TO GET THERE

Hurricane Mills is located directly off Highway 13, which runs north and south from I-40 to Highway 70. I-40 runs east and west from Nashville. For a map of the area, visit the Facility Maps.

Take I-40 west 65 miles to exit 143. Take Highway 13 North about 7 miles to the track entrance on the left.

PARKING

Loretta Lynn's Ranch is a campground and park with plenty of parking. The admission fees for the AMA Amateur Motocross National Championship are based on the vehicle and include parking privileges. Additional vehicles will cost an extra fee for parking.

TICKETS & PRICING
