The Mississippi State Fair offers a wide range of exciting activities for all ages, including thrilling rides, livestock shows, and unique contests like the popular pie-eating competition. ON-SITE AMENITIES

The Mississippi State Fair offers various food vendors at the Mississippi Marketplace and scattered through the rest of the fairgrounds. You'll find something to satisfy your appetite, whether you're craving a classic corndog, cotton candy, or local specialties like fried catfish and barbeque. If you need a break from the action, there are shaded areas with seating to relax and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the fair.

Mississippi State Fairgrounds 1207 Mississippi Street Jackson, MS 39202 Situated in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi's capital city, the fairgrounds are easily accessible from major highways. However, October rain showers can cause the grounds to become muddy, so be sure to wear sturdy shoes.

RVING AT THE EVENT

Unfortunately, the on-site RV campground at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds is reserved for exhibitors, entertainers, and vendors during the fair. However, you can still bring your RV or rent one and stay at a nearby campground. Some excellent options include: • LeFleur's Bluff State Park: This peaceful campground sits just off the banks of the Pearl River and is conveniently accessible from I-55. The park has 28 RV sites, each offering water and electrical hookups. Several amenities are available, including a bathhouse with hot showers and a central dump station. The park also features a nine-hole golf course, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, and a scenic 50-acre lake. • MovieTown RV Park: Located in nearby Canton, about 30 minutes from the fairgrounds, this well-maintained park offers full hookups, free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and a quiet atmosphere. It's a great option for those looking for a comfortable stay with easy access to Jackson. • Timberlake Campground: Situated on the Ross Barnett Reservoir, roughly 15 minutes from downtown Jackson, this campground provides spacious RV sites with full hookups, a swimming pool, a fishing pier, and nature trails. There are also nearby shopping centers and a variety of restaurants, making it a popular choice for RVers visiting the area. Tips for RVers attending the Mississippi State Fair: • October in Mississippi brings warm days and cooler nights, with temperatures typically ranging from the mid-60s to low 80s during the day and dipping into the 50s after sunset. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for daytime comfort, along with a jacket or sweater for the evenings. A raincoat or poncho is also a good idea in case of unexpected showers. To avoid this, consider parking further away and using the free shuttle service to reach the fairgrounds.

WHERE TO STAY

If you will not be bringing your RV to the fair, several hotels nearby offer convenient accommodations. The OYO Hotel Jackson is right by the fairgrounds and offers a complimentary breakfast. Alternatively, the Best Western Plus Jackson Downtown-Coliseum is in downtown Jackson.

HOW TO GET THERE

• From Memphis: Take I-40 E toward Nashville, then merge onto I-55 S toward Jackson. Take Exit 98B for High Street. Turn right on Monroe Street, and the fairgrounds will be on your left. • From Shreveport: Take I-230 E/U.S. 71 S, then merge onto I-55 N toward Memphis. Take Exit 98B for High Street. Continue on High Street to Monroe Street, where you will turn right. Follow signs to the fairgrounds parking lot. • From Birmingham: Take I-65 N to I-20 W toward Jackson. Merge onto I-55 S at Exit 46. Take Exit 98B for High Street. Turn right on Monroe Street, and the fairgrounds will be on your right. • From Jackson-Evers International Airport: Head north on Airport Road toward I-20/I-55. Take Exit 46 to merge onto I-55 S toward Jackson. Take Exit 98B for High Street, and turn right onto Monroe Street. The fairgrounds will be on your right.

PARKING

The fairgrounds offer designated RV parking, though availability can be limited, and it's recommended to arrive early to secure a spot. Additional parking options are available throughout Jackson, including public garages and lots, but be aware that some may charge a fee. If you choose to park in the downtown area, shuttles are provided to transport visitors to the fairgrounds.

TICKETS & PRICING

Ticket prices for the 2025 Mississippi State Fair have not been announced. However, for reference, in 2024, general admission tickets were priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Children 5 and under were free. Additionally, unlimited ride wristbands for the carnival were available for around $30, allowing fairgoers to enjoy all the rides for a single price.
