The Mississippi State Fair, which runs for two weeks during October, has been held for 161 years. With such a history, it's no surprise that the fair attracts people from all over the country to celebrate the best of Mississippi. There are plenty of family-friendly activities, including pie-eating contests and livestock shows. For the adults, they're welcome to try some of the best food in the state or browse the antique car show.

With each year, the state fair adds more exciting activities. Last year, the fair featured a new attraction known as the Ice Dome. This indoor skating arena offered fun for the entire family. You can enjoy some of the other fan-favorite events, including the horse, mule, and pony pull. If you're a foodie, don’t forget to check out the MS Beef Celebrity Cook-Off. Those who love live music will not want to miss a chance to catch some of the biggest acts as they hit the stage. As you can tell, the Mississippi State Fair is a can’t-miss event for the entire family.

When you head out to the Mississippi State Fair, there are plenty of amenities to keep you comfortable. You can find many vendors selling everything from crafts to foods. There are also information booths to keep you up to date on the latest events. Several comfort booths are also located throughout the fairgrounds.

For 2021, the Mississippi State Fair will run from October 6 through 17. It's held at the Fairgrounds Complex in Jackson, which covers over 700 acres of land. The Mississippi Coliseum is also a part of the Fairgrounds Complex, and it offers more space for visitors to enjoy. Throughout the year, Jackson is home to many different events. However, the star of the show is the annual state fair. The address of the Fairgrounds Complex is:

1207 Mississippi Street

Jackson, MS 39202

The 2021 lineup hasn't been fully announced. However, you can expect to catch exciting musical acts, such as TB Ledford & the Accumulators. Local acts like the Mississippi Mass Choir have also performed at the fair. Whatever your musical taste, you can enjoy the variety of sounds at the Mississippi State Fair. As the event gets closer to October, the lineup will be announced. You can find some of the festival information on the fair’s website.
