The Kansas State Fair is a wonderful way to learn more about the state of Kansas and the people who live there. What better way to discover an area than to see what people share about their arts & crafts, the things they grow, and the food they eat? Of course, there’s more to the fair than just those things - there are games to play, and rides to ride, and bands to hear. You can learn about how things grow in AgriLand, and see calves, ewes, and piglets be born in the Birthing Center during the fair.
Kids can see a live rocket science show, visit an exotic animal petting zoo, and see Farm Bureau Ag Central where they can play agricultural trivia games and go on a scavenger hunt. There are marching band concerts and a high school dance showcase.
Of course, there are also carnival games and midway rides. You can purchase a wristband that allows you unlimited rides, or you can purchase individual tickets. The number of tickets each ride requires varies.
There are plenty of amenities on-site at the Kansas State Fair. There is a First Aid Station, and there are wheelchairs and strollers for rent as well.

Don’t forget the live entertainment as well!
The 2024 Llneup including a variety of artists. More headliners will be added, so be sure to check back!
You can camp right at the state fair! Enjoy a full day of fun and excitement, then head back to a quiet space and your own things just a short distance away. If you rent an RV with RVshare, you can enjoy the comforts of home near where you’re playing and exploring all day, even if you don’t own an RV. You can choose to camp at the full-service RV park, which requires you to stay for the duration of the fair but provides full-service 50-amp hookups and gate admission for two people, or you can choose nightly RV sites, which have water and electricity only. You can find more information and make reservations here.
There are also other places to camp nearby, including:
Melody Acres RV Park - is in a wooded area and offers laundry, showers, and a pavilion, along with WiFi.
Lighthouse Landing RV Park - has full hookups with 20, 30, or 50-amp service, water, and sewer. They also have picnic tables and fire rings, and are pet-friendly.
Sand Hills State Park - some sites have water, sewer, and electricity while others just have water and sewer. All sites have 50-amp service. There are also showers, and the campground surrounds a five-acre pond stocked mainly with channel catfish.

Regardless of whether you own your RV or use a rental from RVshare, RV camping is a great way to travel to the fair! You can take your time getting ready in the morning, make your own food to bring along, and know that you have your own shower and comfy bed waiting for you at the end of the day!
Hotels
If you choose not to camp, there are other options for lodging as well! You’ll find information on places to stay here. There are dorms available for former and current 4H and FFA members, and you can sleep on-site right at the fair.
