RV Rental Tips for the Kansas State Fair

Book your camping spot in advance and show up early on opening day, especially for full-service camping. The on-site campground offers full hookups, including electric and water, and accommodates RVs up to 65 feet long. You’ll also find showers, restrooms, and a dump station. You can bring only one car to the campground. Pets are welcome, but they must remain on a leash when outdoors. For dry camping in the fairground parking lots, you are permitted space for one camper unit and one additional vehicle. The venue allows generators as long as you are respectful of your neighbors while running them. Free dump stations are located in public parking lot C.

From the Hutchinson Regional Airport: Head north toward Airport Road. Turn right onto Airport Road. Continue onto East 17th Avenue. Turn right onto North Poplar Street. Make a slight left onto Fort Leavenworth Boulevard/North Poplar Street. The Kansas State Fair is on the right.

PARKING

If you park at the southwest parking lot of Hutchinson Mall, you can take the free shuttle to the fair. The Kansas State Fair also offers free day parking in three different lots. Several businesses near the fair offer parking for a fee, but there is typically enough free parking at the fairgrounds.

In the evening, return to the fair for carnival rides and scheduled entertainment. ● Day 3: Space exploration and the grand finale: Start your morning at the Cosmosphere, where you’ll find fascinating U.S. space artifacts and educational programs.
