Long before the first settlers arrived, the Erie Native Americans inhabited the area now known as Findley State Park. It's heavily wooded with stately pines and various hardwoods and the forest floor supports a mix of woodland flowers that include hepatica, trillium, spring beauties, marsh marigolds, Dutchman breeches, and woodland asters.
