The next year we upgraded to a 5th wheel. The campground has upgraded its wireless and also has a new swim platform.” – Bob, Google Review

The stocked lake is available for fishing, swimming, and boating or just relaxing on the beach. Within the park there are interpretive programs, sports areas, and wildlife viewing. A very short drive takes you into town where you’ll find shopping for anything you could need.
This park has a lot to offer. You’ll find everything from archery to interpretive programs to wildlife viewing. The lake is rich in recreational activities, and there is an interpretive center and nature center nearby. You’ll find shopping and plenty of activities close by.
“Nice big campsites. Clean bathrooms with warm showers (sweet). Close to the lake. Camp hosts at each camping site. Quit, clean and well kept. One of the better campsites I’ve been to in the US. The birds and wind will wake one up unlike other campsites were it is the screams of the other campers parting and trucks using their engine brakes. Note: use bug spray because there is a big lake and they will attack. The mosquitoes thought I was a buffet tasting different parts of me until I bathed in bug spray. I smell a bit funky and my eyes are watering, but at least I don’t have welts all over now.” -Sam R., Yelp

Beeds Lake State Park is within 30 miles of Mason City. The park sits on the south side of the lake, providing a panoramic view of blue lake water, green grass and dark green oak leaves beneath an incredibly open sky. Beeds Lake is fed by Spring Creek, which keeps a steady flow of pure and clean water flowing into the lake, making angling a capital sport here.
The fishing at Beeds Lake is incredible and remains so year-round. A two-mile hiking trail follows the lake shore and leads to the beautiful dam that creates the lake. On hot days, visitors are often seen below the dam’s causeway, soaking in the mist as water flows down the limestone surface. The Dam in Beeds Lake State Park is said to be the most photographed dam in the Midwest.
“Beeds is a well maintained campground with really nice bath houses, fishing, and some nice trails. The lake features a unique dam/spillway that provides decent fishing opportunities for those of us without boats! If there is a drawback to this campground it is that several electric sites are directly across from each other so it limits the feeling of seclusion but there are a few that are a bit more private if you can get them. We’ll definitely be back again.” -Michael, Google Review
