The US Space and Rocket Center RV Park is the most obvious place to stay when visiting the Center. Located on the Center property, it is convenient to all of the attractions available at the Center. Reviews of the US Space and Rocket Center RV Park report that it is in need of an update, but you can’t beat it for price or convenience. Reservations are recommended since the park tends to stay full.
The main draw for the US Space and Rocket Center RV Park is its location. What could be better than being fully immersed in the Space and Rocket Center, camping near the museum and attractions. The site is a bit worn, but it is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Discover a forever home in this gorgeously landscaped community that's close to everything but hidden from the hustle and bustle. Swan Creek offers beautiful modern single and double wide home sites with full utility hookups, numerous amenities, and plenty of parking. Short and long-term RVs of all sizes are welcome. They offer something for everyone from young families to singles and seniors.
They offer an abundance of activities, from a playground to a basketball court, dog park, and clubhouse with billiards and a fitness center. Great shopping, recreation activities, restaurants, schools, medical facilities, and more are just minutes away in Athens and Decatur. Ditto Landing is right on the edge of Huntsville, which places it right off the Tennessee River. Greenery surrounds this campsite that has been around since the 19th century. Ditto Landing has a rich history and beautiful scenery along with space to secure your boat.
Other Huntsville camping sites can’t match the beauty of Ditto Landing. Most RV parks in the city are surrounded by forests, which are breathtaking in their own rights. Few RV parks in Huntsville, though, present a combination of beauty on the land and water like Ditto Landing. You will especially love this place if you own a boat. Imagine going for a ride along the Tennessee River in the evening when the weather is perfect and serene.

Only 10 miles and 20 minutes away from the US Space and Rocket Center is the Monte Sano State Park. Situated in a quiet mountain setting, the park boasts 2,140 acres with spectacular views. In the spring, hikers and bikers enjoy the sight of tive azaleas blooming along the paths. Or visit in the fall when the fall leaves create a colorful landscape on the mountain vistas.
The Monte Sano Park provides a lovely tural setting in the heart of Alabama. With 20 miles of hiking trails and 14 miles of biking trails, you may have to make time for the many nearby attractions. Visit the Huntsville Botanical Gardens, the Early Works Family of Museums, in addition to the US Space and Rocket Center. While in the area, don’t miss Cathedral Caverns and Lake Guntersville, only an hour away.

For military families, the Redstone Arsel RV Park offers a great place to stay at bargain rates. Only 16 miles and 24 minutes from the US Space and Rocket Center, this park gets excellent reviews.
The sites here are large and convenient with all the amenities. You’ll also enjoy limited cable TV, bowling, bingo golf, Officer’s Club and outdoor recreation. There is a great trail for biking, walking, or running nearby. The park is convenient to the Commissary and PX. You must be military or have a military connection to stay at Redstone Arsel RV Park.

This peaceful campground is an easy 20 miles and 27 minutes from the US Space and Rocket Center and only a few minutes south of the small town of New Market. The park sports a spacious and modern playground, swimming pool, shooting range, and fishing area. Walkers and runners will also appreciate the marked 5K walking/running course.
This is a nice park with plenty for kids and adults to enjoy. There are both shaded and open sites available. Families will enjoy the Olympic size pool and exploring the unique playground recently installed in the park. It features a Tot Lot and play area accessible to children of all ages and abilities. A pavilion is also available within the playground area. Other amenities include a 12 acre stocked fishing lake, soccer fields, 5K walking or running course, picnic pavilions and a pioneer-style arena that hosts horse and dog shows each spring.

Owned by the Tennessee Valley Authority on Lake Guntersville, Alabama, the Honeycomb Campground offers stunning views of the mountains behind the lake. Featuring boat docks, fishing, a beach and swimming area on the lake, and a camp store there is plenty to do here. Just be sure to make time for your visit to the US Space and Rocket Center only 22 miles and 27 minutes away.
Honeycomb park is a family friendly park with plenty to see and do. The park has developed the lake into an effective recreation area with a beach, swimming area, fishing piers, and boating. Enjoy a peaceful day in relaxing in the park, or head out to the many nearby activities.

You’ll love the family friendly atmosphere at the Georgia Mountain RV Resort. Everyone will love the walking trails, fire pits, swimming pool, goldfish pond with a small waterfall, horseshoes and playground. This is a peaceful place with friendly people and wide open spaces.
Located 31 miles and 33 minutes away from the US Space and Rocket Center, the Parnell Creek RV park is a family owned and operated park that enjoys encouraging and entertaining other families. They have plenty of activities for families, including mini-golf, a club house, fitness center, salt water pool, horseshoes and a camp store.
The family owners take the time to encourage kids to enjoy the park and claim ownership by painting their names on a large rock located in the front of the park. Returning families enjoy looking for their names on the rock and repainting, if needed. There is plenty for kids to do, including a small fort styled playground with swings and a slide. On holiday weekends, kids enjoy a scavenger hunt and other activities.
From the family farm and into space, you can enjoy both when you stay at the Northgate RV Travel Park. This family owned park is an old family farm turned campground. You’ll be met by Dottie, the official greeter and farm dog. Other farm animals include cows, goats, and bunnies. Located 31 miles from the US Space and Rocket Center, this RV park is truly special.
Kids and adults alike will be enchanted by the farm atmosphere. The RV sites sit behind the farm, just a short walk away. Spend the day at the Space Center, then come home to a slower pace and friendly faces.
After a long day at the US Space and Rocket Center, you can relax on the beautiful Tennessee River at the Cowford Campground located in the Round Island Recreational Area. Only 34 miles from the space center, the park offers a great place to soothe your soul and get back to nature. Nicely landscaped campsites and plenty of amenities, including swimming, fishing, boating, a beach, and floating pier.
The Cowford Landing Campground is a rural setting with many sites on the riverfront. It offers the opportunity to unwind in the quiet of a natural setting without giving up your modern conveniences. We loved this campground for its gorgeous views and quiet setting.
Rounding out our top ten is Swan Creek RV Park. The park has RV sites in the front of the park, and full time trailer rental spots in the back. It is a beautiful park offering the best of overnight parking and long-term rentals. Swan Creek RV Park is a short 25 mile commute to the US Space and Rocket Center
This RV park has much to offer. You’ll enjoy a nice 24 hour clubhouse with TV, pool table, and full kitchen. A comfortable wireless room next door keeps you connected. This is a nice residential setting to come home to after a day of sightseeing.

RV rates for the parks listed varied greatly. The best bargain was probably the US Space and Rocket Center RV Park located at the Center. At $18 to $20 per night, they were the lowest priced park. All the parks were reasonably priced with the most expensive charging $36.75 per night.
RVing is a fun and inexpensive way to travel, but consumers who don’t own RVs don’t need to miss out on the benefits. It is possible to rent an RV nearby for your use in the area. We have a large assortment of RVs available for rent in the Huntsville area.
The Swan Creek Community is set up for long-term rentals, as is the Cowford Landing RV Park. Others accept a limited number of long term rentals. Many have limits on your stay.
