We caught tons of fish back to back. As soon as the line hit the water, a fish would get on! Staff was friendly and really liked that they patrol the park often.” – Tyler, from Google Review

Ruby Campground is located about 50 miles north of Sterling Heights. It offers outdoor recreation opportunities, such as mountain biking and fishing. The campground is about 15 minutes away from historic downtown Port Huron.
This Sterling Heights campground offers a no-frills outdoor experience. There are a stream and a fishing pond, where you can swim. Ruby Campground provides campers with a rustic outdoor camping experience about an hour from Detroit.
“Nice campground with great scenery and bike trails. The campground does not have the bells and whistles of some other campgrounds, but the location is nice, being in a basin next to Mill Creek, and the price is reasonable. Shower and toilet are located a distance from most of the sites, and upkeep on these is hit or miss on a busy weekend. There is little to no cell service in the basin, so keep that in mind. Call early if you want a creekside site. Some sites are not as roomy as others are for a travel trailer, and most of the sites are electric only. There are some full hookups, but they seem to be long-term only. There is a dump station and well water. Mountain bike trails are very nice and well maintained. Pond for swimming is also on-site. Small camp store on-site, and Ruby General is down the road for beer, pizza, or other basic grocery items.” – Brian, Google Review

They have a decent playground for kids, a good-size beachfront, although I seem to remember it being a lot bigger when I was young, haha 🙂 I have recently discovered all of the trails that they have and really enjoy exploring there and going to a few of the other beachfront areas, especially if you want to take photos! A perfect place to go fishing and explore the water in a canoe!” – Dave, Google Review
