Savannah South KOA is approximately 55 miles southeast of Statesboro, Georgia. Savannah South is a family-owned and operated KOA franchise that has been around since 1973. Starting at dusk, egrets, ibises and blue herons all gather on the island of trees that surrounds the 35-acre lake.
After a busy day of communing with nature, you can return to the peace and serenity of Savannah South. This tiny piece of paradise has a boat dock and kayak launch for fun water activities. Drop a line in the water and see if you can pull out a bass or two. Take a day trip to nearby historic areas or enjoy the beach.

The Savannah South KOA is in Richmond Hill, which is a small town on the southwestern edge of Savannah. This campground is only a few blocks away from Interstate 95, and when the traffic is light, you can be in downtown Savanh in less than a half-hour. In downtown Savannah, you can enjoy one of the many walking tours offered in the city and see the many sites, including places where notable movies like “Forrest Gump” and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” were filmed.
Because this site is operated by the KOA, it is one of the premier places to go RV camping in Savannah-Hinesville. It is loaded with amenities and things to do. It has a lake where you and the family can launch nonmotorized boats or do some fishing. The site has even contracted with a couple of area tours to take guests to see various sites in the area.
