The James River is only a few miles outside of Springfield and provides hours of fun for those who float down it. HootonTown Canoe Rental & Store is run by the same company that owns the nearby campground. Since 1993, these services have been bringing in lots of business from RVers and outdoor enthusiasts.
When you have a site at HootonTown’s campground, you have a comfortable place to return to after a long day on the river. You can enjoy a meal at Smokin’ on the River restaurant. If you’d rather eat at your campsite, you can buy groceries and drinks at the convenient camp store.

This RV park has a convenient location next to the world-famous Lambert’s Café. The location, which is family owned and operated, has been around since 1999. The year-round park is conveniently found between Springfield and Branson in Ozark.
At this RV park, all of the sites are pull-through and can accommodate big rigs. The full hookups include electrical service, sanitary connections and city water. Dogs are always welcome as long as they are on a leash and cleaned up after. Quiet time is instituted to make sure that everyone gets a good night’s sleep. There are plenty of family attractions nearby, including Whitewater, Celebration City and Branson Tracks. There are also several grocery stores and delis nearby in case you need anything.

While you’re staying here, you’ll be able to enjoy the shade under the Ozark trees. Overnight and long-term camping is available as well as permanent mobile home lots. You will love the excellent fishing for rainbow trout, great browns, crappies, bluegill, bass and catfish in Bull Shoals Lake. Beagle Bay is located on 30 acres of natural wooded area that’s full of hickory, oak and walnut trees. The campground has large, level sites available to accommodate every size of rig, and it has a cool swimming pool, a fishing pond, an air-conditioned arcade, a laundry center and walking trails. A playground, horseshoes, and a monster ladder will keep kids of all ages busy, whereas a camp store with ice, snacks, soda and ice cream is on-site for your convenience.
Sarcoxie is located 22 miles east of Joplin and is the oldest town in Joplin County, so it has some of the oldest campgrounds in Joplin, Missouri. It has been known as the “Strawberry Capital” and the “Peony Capital of the World.” A quaint downtown area not far from the campground has a few local businesses and restaurants to check out, as well as the Gene Taylor Museum, the Stebbins Memorial Park. A 9-hole golf course at Center Creek Country Club is just down the road.
