Just 15 miles north of Bellevue, Washington, Lake Pleasant RV Park is right off of I-405 in the suburb of Bothell. It’s down the street from the University of Washington Bothell campus as well as a supermarket, several restaurants, and a number of hiking trails. It takes about 30 minutes to get into downtown Seattle from this RV park, so you’re not far from the Space Needle at all. You’ll even find Washington wine country nearby as well as the alternative college town of Everett.

This is a clean, well-maintained campground with everything you need right outside of the Seattle city center. Its location in Bothell makes it convenient to all the area’s major attractions, from the Space Needle and Pike’s Place Market to the Boeing Factory and Washington Wine Country. Head north to experience Mount Vernon and Whidbey Island. You can easily ride the bus into the city by parking at Kenmore Park, just 3 miles down the road, and ride in from there.

Blue Sky RV Park
Located in Issaquah, Washington, on the edge of Tiger Mountain State Forest, Blue Sky RV Park is about 25 minutes east of downtown Seattle. This RV park is both one of the closest RV parks to central Seattle and one of the most scenic in the area. It’s just 15 minutes east of the city and 20 minutes from the Space Needle. At the same time, it sits right along the scenic shores of Lake Sammamish, even offering beach access and swimming right on the campground. The staff was all very friendly, the laundry room was kept nice and clean and even had books and movies you could borrow, there were hiking trails that went around the park, and plenty of shade. The trees were massive and would help to keep the campsite cool in the day, as well as keep the wind away. There were no bugs or anything like that, however, when we were on a hike one morning, we did find a massive banana slug in the woods. Definitely some really cool wildlife that you don’t get to experience many other places. At each campsite, however, most did not have picnic tables or fire pits. So bring lawn chairs if you wish to sit outside, as well as a grill if you want to cookout. At night it was quiet and hardly any traffic going through. Just under an hour from downtown Seattle and the Space Needle, Tolt-MacDonald Park and Campground is close enough to spend a whole day in the city but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. You can even get to Seattle using public transportation is a little over 2 hours. The park itself is near a couple of small towns and golf courses, with larger towns like Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond just a short drive away.
