Paradise RV Park is located north of Boulder in Estes Park. This RV park is very small, and some of the sites at Paradise RV Park feature decks. Unlike most RV parks in Boulder, Paradise RV Park is on the banks of a river.
Estes Park KOA
The city of Estes Park is a mere 45 minutes from Fort Collins and only 5 miles from the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. Here, you will find the Estes Park KOA, which is one of the best places you can camp to experience Northern Colorado. Aspenglen Campground
Aspenglen Campground is situated on the eastern side of Rocky Mountain National Park, conveniently located near the Fall River Entrance to the park. With 51 campsites available exclusively through reservations during the summer season, the campground transitions to a first-come, first-served basis in the winter. The area is frequented by diverse wildlife, including bears, deer, elk, raccoons, and skunks. Stringent measures are in place, requiring the secure storage of all food, pet food, cooking utensils, and other scented items either in vehicles or the designated food storage lockers within the campground. There is no dedicated dump station, necessitating RV sewage and wastewater tank disposal at the dump station located in Moraine Park Campground. The maximum allowable length for RVs and trailers is 30 feet. Aspenglen Campground boasts a delightful blend of Douglas fir, Lodgepole pine, Ponderosa pine, and occasional Engelmann spruce, creating a diverse forest landscape that offers an equal mix of sunlit and shaded areas. Open meadows are adorned with grasses, shrubs, and seasonal wildflowers, providing a picturesque setting.
Longs Peak Campground
Situated approximately 20 minutes south of Estes Park on Hwy 7, Longs Peak Campground offers a serene setting for tents-only camping. Immersed in a forested environment, the campground enjoys an elevated location at 9,500 feet (3,000 m). Longs Peak Campground features vault toilets, but it's important to note that there is no available water on-site. Therefore, campers are advised to bring their own drinking water for a comfortable stay. This camping site serves as an ideal base for those embarking on the challenging yet rewarding trek up Longs Peak.
Timber Creek Campground
Situated as the sole campground on the west side of the park, Timber Creek Campground stands approximately eight miles (13 km) north of the Grand Lake entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Nestled along the Colorado River, this campground boasts an elevation of 8,900 feet (3,000 m). Due to a mountain pine beetle infestation that necessitated the removal of most trees, campsites here lack natural shade. Timber Creek Campground features a variety of sites, including single-family tent-only sites, walk-to sites, and RV sites (30 ft/9 m or smaller in length) without hookups. Campers with trailers or RVs should note the vehicle length limit of 30 feet (9 m), ensuring compliance with this restriction to camp at Timber Creek.
Manor RV Park
Manor RV Park is located in Estes Park, and it is one of the biggest RV parks in the area. It features incredible mountain views, and it is within walking distance of many amenities. Highway 36 is nearby, and Beaver Meadows Visitor Center is about five minutes away.
Spruce Lake RV Resort
Since this park sits on the Big Thompson River, campers can enjoy the rushing sounds of water while they go about their days. Spruce Lake RV Resort is located in the outskirts of Estes Park, which is known as a base for the Rocky Mountains. Since there are a bunch of restaurants and local shops in the town, you’ll find plenty of ways to keep busy when you’re not hiking up into the mountains.
Rocky Mountain National Park Glacier Basin Campground
Overview Glacier Basin Campground is currently closed for the winter 2024/2025 season. Glacier Basin Campground will open for the summer 2025 camping season on Thursday, May 22. During the summer season, all campsites at Glacier Basin Campground are available by reservation only. Reservations must be made online at www.recreation.gov, through the Recreation.gov Mobile App, or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Glacier Basin Campground is located on the east side of RMNP at an elevation of 8,500 feet. There are 150 campsites available. To get to Glacier Basin Campground, drive up Bear Lake Road approximately 5 miles. The entrance to Glacier Basin Campground is across from the Park & Ride Parking Area. Any sites that are open are listed as "A" for available; this means those campsites are available to be reserved. Any campsite listed as “NR” has Not Yet Released; this means that those campsites are not yet available to be reserved. A number of campsites are available to be reserved up to 6-months in advance on a rolling window. Some campsites are available to be reserved 2-weeks prior to your desired camping date. Some campsites are available to be reserved 1-week prior to your desired camping date. Group campsites are available to be reserved 1-year in advance on a rolling window. Campers with reservations for Glacier Basin Campground have a "Timed Entry+ Bear Lake Road" reservation included with your camping reservation. For instance, a camper could spend 7 nights at Glacier Basin Campground or they could stay 3 nights at Glacier Basin Campground and 4 at Timber Creek Campground. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park of Estes Campground
If you are camping with children, this is the place for you as you will find many fun-filled activities here without ever leaving the park. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park of Estes Campground is only nine minutes from Estes Park and RMNP, which are loaded with adventure for campers of all ages. The park is located about 45 minutes from Fort Collins, and while it’s farther from civilization than some of the other places on this list, it does have a fully stocked store and a heated pool.
Jacks Gulch State Park
If you want to get away from it all and camp in your RV, then Jack’s Gulch is a solid choice. Here you will find tons of peace and quiet and no traces of city life whatsoever. Smaller rigs and fifth wheels should have no problems navigating the campground, but coaches over 40 feet in total length may not be as easy to maneuver here.
Elk Creek Campground & RV Park
Elk Creek Campground & RV Park is the closest campground to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. This RV park is medium-sized, and it features a large playground. A portable dumping service makes its way through Elk Creek Campground & RV Park three times per week, and there is an arcade on-site.
Dutch George Campground
Not far from Jack’s Gulch (35 miles from Fort Collins), you will find another quaint little campground at Dutch George Flats. This is another excellent place to get away from it all and leave all the traffic and stress of daily life behind. Tucked in along the Poudre River, campers will find plenty to do here, like hiking, fishing, and spotting local wildlife.
Fireside Cabins and RV Park
This cozy park is an excellent choice for those who want to be closer to RMNP and the impressive state parks in the Fort Collins area. Rigs of all sizes will find a quiet campsite with clean grounds and helpful staff. River rafting, golfing, and biking opportunities are just a short drive away.
Ansel Watrous
Overview Ansel Watrous Campground is located on the Cache la Poudre River, 22 miles northwest of Fort Collins, Colo., along Highway 14. Visitors enjoy the area for its great rafting, fishing and hiking opportunities. Recreation The Cache la Poudre River offers whitewater rafting and fishing. Anglers cast for brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout, among other species of fish. Hiking, biking and horseback riding trails are in the surrounding area, including the 4-mile Young Gulch Trail. Chambers Lake
Overview Chambers Lake Campground is located approximately 60 miles north of Fort Collins, Colo., on beautiful Chambers Lake. Visitors enjoy the area for its great fishing and canoeing, as well as abundant trail opportunities and wilderness access. Recreation Popular activities included fishing, canoeing and boating on Chambers Lake, which is a no-wake lake. Anglers cast for rainbow, cutthroat and lake trout. A boat ramp is located within the campground. Please note the boat ramp may be unusable in late summer due to low water levels. The lake is a storage reservoir for irrigation water and is drawn down over the course of the summer.The Blue Lake Trail No. 959 begins nearby. The 7.2-mile trail provides access to the Rawah Wilderness. Several additional hiking and biking trails can be found in the surrounding area.
