“Nice park, shade trees need a little more growth to help with shade. Only 1 spot has a picnic table, so I hope that the city can add some more. Spaces are long enough that we didn’t have to unhook (27 ft trailer plus truck.) Each space has some grass, long strip between spaces. Plenty of room between trailers. Hells Gate State Park is located at the entrance of Hells Canyon. The deepest canyon in North America, it was carved by the Ske River. Local wonders include the 14-million-year-old basaltic columns and Nez Perce archeological remains.
Hells Gate State Park offers a huge selection of outdoor activities including water sports, wildlife viewing, and jet boat trips into Hells Canyon, fishing, biking and disc golf. There are trails for hiking, horseback riding, and biking. The Lewis and Clark Discovery Center is worth seeing.
