Richard Bong State Recreation Area
Richard Bong State Recreation Area features sprawling Kenosha-Racine-area camping sites that are filled with the sights and sounds only nature can provide. Lake access within the park gives you ample opportunities for enjoying recreational water activities such as boating, canoeing, tubing, kayaking, or swimming. In addition, the serene settings make for excellent photo opportunities.
Jellystone Park Caledonia
One of the better RV parks near Milwaukee for family vacations is Jellystone Park Caledonia. Located a couple of miles off Interstate 94 about 15 miles south of downtown Milwaukee, it’s a prime location for touring Milwaukee’s urban attractions when you don’t feel like staying at the resort. Jellystone Park Caledonia is part of the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park franchise.
Grass Lake Marina and RV Park
Grass Lake Marina RV Park offers a wide array of amenities, including a seasonal campsite from April 1 through late October. Boat and RV storage is available on the site, and they also have a boat launch at the marina. Various activities are available at this campground, and it’s close to Elgin, so you can enjoy the various sights and attractions there, like the Grumpy Goat Tavern and the Elgin History Museum.
Country View Campground
Country View Campground is near Interstate 43 and 25 miles southwest of Milwaukee. On the other side of the freeway, you’ll find the town of Mukwonago, which is a convenient pit stop that offers restaurants and shops. Nature lovers can discover Kettle Moraine State Forest a little further to the west, and city lovers can sample the array of attractions just 30 minutes away in greater Milwaukee.
Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort
Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort is located just outside of Elgin. The camping season runs from May 1 through Oct. 15, and RVs and travel trailers are welcome. Daily and monthly rates are available for your convenience at this park that’s conveniently located near Six Flags Great America.
