Situated along the banks of the Illinois River, this 15-acre Peoria campground can be found on Access Road #7. You can actually see the city on the other side of the waterway as the river is about a mile wide at this point. The next time you’re in Central Illinois between March 1 and December 1, stop in and rent a campsite.
The river and mari at Carl Spindler Campground & Mari offer a lot of entertainment since you can swim, rent a boat, or just enjoy the view. Children can romp around on the playground while adults hit the hiking trails. In addition to shopping centers and restaurants, a casino is a short distance away from the park.
“This was just an overnight stay, but it was fairly quiet. The roads are a little rrow because there are all back-ins, and people park their tow vehicles on both sides of the road, but we maged with our 40-foot fifth wheel and truck. The sites are paved with gravel patios, and there are quite a few trees, so we had some shade.” – Ginny, RV Park Review

If you want to stay at an RV campground with a family-oriented environment, then Kentuckiana Kampground is your kind of place. Playgrounds with large slides and basketball hoops are in three separate sections of the park. Bocce courts and a recreation hall will also keep you busy when you’re not fishing or playing golf on the course down the street.
Special events are perhaps this campground’s best feature. Saturday mornings are for playing bocce, and Saturday nights find the house band on stage for a well-liked country music concert. Bingo, karaoke, and campground flea markets also draw crowds.
“We have traveled for the past 10 summers and have stayed in a lot of different campgrounds. This summer we have been wandering through central Illinois and happened on Kentuckiana…Located within a short drive from the highway…Based on our experience, I am sure we will plan another trip through this area so we are able to come back and enjoy Kentuckiana’s hospitality.” – Liz, Trip Advisor Review

All made of wood and very clean. Never seen a campground bathroom/shower this great! We will come back.” – Vicki, Facebook Review
