Situated along the banks of the Illinois River, this 15-acre Peoria campground can be found on Access Road #7. You can actually see the city on the other side of the waterway as the river is about a mile wide at this point. The next time you’re in Central Illinois between March 1 and December 1, stop in and rent a campsite.
The river and mari at Carl Spindler Campground & Mari offer a lot of entertainment since you can swim, rent a boat, or just enjoy the view. Children can romp around on the playground while adults hit the hiking trails. In addition to shopping centers and restaurants, a casino is a short distance away from the park.

This hotel and casino in East Peoria is a high-end facility with more than 200 rooms plus a buffet, deli, and steakhouse. If you’re desperate for a place to park your RV, the management will allow you to use a bus or RV space overnight. You won’t have hookups nor showers, but you’ll be able to get some much-needed rest.
Par-A-Dice Casino is situated on Peoria Lake. It’s a lovely area that’s very close to the downtown district. The bus and RV parking section is on the west side of the lot. If the RV spaces are all taken, you may be able to squeeze your travel vehicle into two regular spaces that are right by the RV spots.

If you want to stay at an RV campground with a family-oriented environment, then Kentuckiana Kampground is your kind of place. Playgrounds with large slides and basketball hoops are in three separate sections of the park. Bocce courts and a recreation hall will also keep you busy when you’re not fishing or playing golf on the course down the street.

Drive to Upper Peoria Lake and check out the campsites at Millpoint RV Park; they’re spacious enough for enormous rigs. Although this park is closed December through February, it’s a beautiful place to camp the rest of the year. Spring Bay Fen ture Reserve is right beside the campground, and a beach is within a short walking distance.
With on-site fishing lakes and the Illinois River at the end of the walking trail, Millpoint RV Park is ideal for boaters and hikers. The water is not good for swimming, but you’ll love the scenery. Boat launch sites are nearby, so bring your outboard bowrider with you.

While Mill Point RV Park is a little farther away than the others, it’s located in Peoria, Illinois, which is a great small town in its own right and a good midway point between Springfield and Chicago. It’s just over an hour from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, and it sits right on the scenic Peoria Lake and next to the Spring Bay Fen Nature Preserve. Cross the bridge over the lake, and you’ll find yourself in the middle of downtown Peoria.
This large park is next to a big nature reserve, Bay Fen. It’s almost directly on the river and has a spacious layout. Although it’s a bit of a drive to Springfield, this location might just be worth it. The campground is picturesque and surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the facilities are impeccable and very well-maintained. You’ll find plenty to do in the park itself, from hiking and fishing to boating and beach time. You can easily get to the dining, nightlife, casinos, and shops of Peoria from this site.

Your rig will have plenty of space and shade when you rent a lot at this urban RV park in Peoria. Unlike many RV facilities in the area, this park is open all year long. The mager is friendly, and the permanent and seasol residents get along very well with the short-term visitors.

An Illinoisan drift-plain with a complex collection of valleys is a beautiful setting for a campground. This state park consists of 3,200 acres of rolling hills and a winding creek. Although the location is conveniently near U.S. Route 150, the park has the feel of a wilderness retreat.
Jubilee Creek is popular among anglers since it’s usually stocked with bluegills and bass. You can hike, bike, or ride on horseback through the many trails in the state park. Even during the winter months, you can camp in the Coyote Cove loop. You’ll have electricity but will otherwise need to be self-contained.
