This conveniently located RV park in Fredericksburg is situated where four of the Civil War’s most significant battles were fought so history buffs will enjoy exploring the historical sites in and around the area. The park offers easy access to Interstate 95 between two exits, and it close enough to D.C. to take a guided tour from town or ride the Metro in and experience the tion’s capital. This family-friendly, resort-style campground features a pool, sck bar, pavilion, dog park, and much more.
There is no shortage of things to do at this campground. Play some horseshoes or tetherball, do some fishing in the on-site pond, rent a paddleboat or one of the KOA’s great fun bikes, or even do some gem mining. Wilderness Presidential Resort is a privately owned, family-friendly RV campground near Fredericksburg, Virginia, located in the town of Spotsylvania. It is situated on over 600 acres of magnificent forests and waterways. The resort features a full suite of amenities, including a gymnasium, a miniature golf course, two lakes, boat rentals, and an adventure park on-site.
There are three pools at this facility; one is indoors and heated, and the other two are outdoors. Water aerobics is offered as well as a variety of other planned activities and themed weekends. Located 21 miles southwest of Fredericksburg, Lake Anna State Park is situated on beautiful Lake Anna. It features a large beach with a concession stand and picnic areas. The campground itself has nice level sites with and without water as well as electric hookups, fire rings, picnic tables, clean restrooms with hot showers, and lantern holders.
The park has a rich history of gold mining, and visitors can learn how to pan for gold. One of the hiking trails in the park leads you to what is left of Pigeon Plantation, which is a well-preserved smokehouse that still remains. Here, you can learn how Virginia hams are made and explore the layout and history of the plantation. The park offers ongoing nature and history programs led by a knowledgeable and friendly staff.

This park is a privately owned and operated campground in Prince William Forest Park, a unit of the National Park Service. The campground features paved, 35-foot-long pull-through sites and 80-foot-long back-in sites for big rigs. The park is conveniently located just a short drive from Mount Vernon, Manassas Battlefield, and Fredericksburg. Oak Ridge Campground is located in Prince William Forest Park about 25 minutes from Fredericksburg. Trailers and fifth wheels are limited to up to 26 feet in length and 12 feet in height, and motorhomes are limited to up to 32 feet in length and 12 feet in height. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, grill, and lantern post, and the park features clean restrooms with hot showers.
The campsites at Oak Ridge are private and wooded. This destination is a favorite of RVers because of its tranquil setting in the gorgeous 15,000-acre state park. Evening ranger programs and campfire talks take place on summer weekends at the park’s amphitheater.
