Black Creek State Forest offers rugged tent and RV camping about 30 minutes from Saginaw. The riverfront sites offer access to Sanford Lake. The fish are abundant, and there are plenty of water sports to participate in. While amenities are basic, Black Creek is extremely clean. There are only 15 sites that can accommodate large campers, so make your reservations early for this popular Michigan campground.
“The spaces here are HUGE. The fire ring is also super huge. I dug out the ash before starting our first fire and almost wish I hadn’t because now the fire is lost in the ring. Swimming here isn’t the best,=, It’s a little off shoot of a river and the bottom is all clay. You sink right up to your knees in clay, but if you have kayaks or canoes it would be perfect.” – Jackie, Google Review
