“If you like peace and serenity, this is the CG for you. Completely surrounded by the 65,000-acre Felsenthal tiol Wildlife Refuge, it is located 6 miles west of Crossett, just off US 82. Built in 1987 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, it is now operated by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. All roads to and throughout the park are paved and in excellent condition. Every campsite has a level paved pad, concrete picnic table, is shaded, and spaced for maximum privacy. Reservations are not accepted but are unnecessary since the park is never more than a fraction occupied. No sewer hookups, but there is a convenient dump station. Only five sites are waterfront, but the park has a first-class boat launch and parking area. It is well worth a visit, and don’t miss the FNW Refuge Visitor Center about a mile east on US 82. The Wi-Fi works well (unless you are in peak use time, and that can’t be helped). The owners are very helpful people and have always done everything they could to make me feel at home. The monthly price is very reasoble, and you aren’t billed for water or electricity. And a really nice touch is that they can now sell propane on site!” – Shane and Shelby, Google Review

“Nice place! We just needed a decent place to park for the night with our camper. It was 9 p.m., so not all RV campgrounds are available at that time. We found them online along our route and called them for availability. They answered and said the office was closed for the night. They said we were welcome to pull in and hook up and just pay in the morning. So we did! Bathrooms were clean and had A/C, which I appreciate! It is right off the highway, but traffic was not a problem for us. A very handy, clean, open place with no gates closed at night. You can just stop anytime, which makes it nice when you’re just traveling through and need some sleep! Thank you, Pecan Grove RV Park!!!” – Georgie, Google Review

“I love going to the park. It’s my home. I played there as a child. The people that own it are family.” – Lisa, Facebook

What People Are Saying About Grand Marais Campground

“This campground is next to the Felsenthal lock and dam about 12 miles from the town of Strong, AR. We were down here and checked it out but did not stay here. It has paved roads and sites with 30-amp power, water, and sewer available. Most sites just have water and electric. There’s lots of shade available, and the place has a few long-term residents but not nearly as many as the Crossett Harbor campground. I think Verizon Wi-Fi will work here, but it will be slow. We only had 2 bars on our phone. The rate is the posted senior rate for water and electric hook up. I think the full rate was $10-$11 for water and electric, and water, sewer, and electric was $13. Looks like a nice place without much hustle and bustle. We camped at Grand Marais Campground in a motorhome.” – pumper9x9, RV Park Reviews

“This park is run by Union County, not the COE. The COE leases to the county. You can do long-term camping at a rate of $290 a month. The park is very close to the Felsenthal dam. The park actually is located in the Town of Felsenthal. The park was very clean. The back part of the park was closed due to lack of campers. The park does rent out RV park models (4 of them). We camped at Grand Marais Campground in a motorhome.” – Joceil, RV Park Reviews

“This is a relatively new park with 30 sites placed around a very attractive landscaped pond. The pull-through sites are long enough to leave your tow connected. The sites and roads are gravel. There is lots of grass around the sites and grounds. The park is well maintained, very neat, and clean. Hookups were easy, and Wi-Fi and cable worked well. The main building contains the check-in office, bathrooms, showers, and laundry. The only difference from most RV parks is that the entrance to all these services is from inside this service building. So to use the showers or bathrooms, you enter the building past the front desk. This building is also the lounge and meeting room and TV room. The bathrooms are sparkling clean. The showers are very large with a complete bathroom as well and are even decorated. This is a very comfortable RV park and a nice break from the road.” – Jack, TripAdvisor Review

“Spacious sites, full hookups, extremely nice shower house, laundry, clubhouse with a covered picnic area for outside gatherings. Beautiful lake with fish to die for. Sorry – it’s catch and release. Staff is attentive, courteous, and keeping the place spic and span. This is worth your visit.”
