Rantoul is a nearby town where you can camp at this average-sized park from April through October. All your necessities, including handicap-accessible restrooms, will be provided at Prairie Pines Campground. Although the camping sites are open during the cold months, no water is available.
This park’s grounds were, at one time, the Chanute Air Force Base. Today they house a comfortable, spacious campground with large sites and children’s playground equipment. Fire rings and picnic tables are available on demand so that you can sit outside your RV late in the day.

This state park in Oakwood sits on land that was once a strip mine, and it’s now a thriving forest with 22 lakes for deep-water fishing. The Vermilion River’s Middle Fork also flows through the park. Needless to say, camping guests do a lot of kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and exploring.
