This beautiful Kalamazoo, Michigan, campground is conveniently located north of the downtown district. The property is home to a mature beech-maple forest and a variety of spring flowers. The county obtained Markin Glen Park from the city of Kalamazoo, and it opened as a county park in 2004.
Markin Glen Park offers 160 acres of beautiful natural features. Since it caters to anglers, the campground is a good location for shore fishing. You have access to two fishing piers and a lake. While there is no on-site pool, the kids can stay cool at the splash pad and swimming beach. It is also 2.92 miles from Old Burdick’s Bar and Grill.

This city park is located on the east side off of M-89 along the banks of the Kalamazoo River. If you decide to camp here, Brookside Park does require a permit that you have to register for with the police department. Once everything is set up, you’ll have access to free utilities and parking for recreational vehicles.
This city park features a large covered pavilion that is suitable for family reunions and other events, and children can enjoy large playground equipment on each end of the park. Brookside Park, which has a three-day limit for camping, is also conveniently located 2 miles away from a Walmart. While it may be small, it provides some great RV camping near Kalamazoo.
