The hills in Rensselaer County to the east of Albany are ideal for RV camping. This family-friendly park sits on a bluff with a view of the Hoosick River. From May through mid-October, it’s hopping with activity; planned events may include a luau, a tailgate party, a Frisbee weekend, or even a campground birthday party.
You can have hours of fun watching your children play in the Fun Zone; meanwhile, a pool is available for the adults too. Some guests like to fish in the little pond or take a scenic stroll. If you run out of supplies, you can buy more at the well-stocked general store.

This lovely campground just northwest of Albany gives you a gorgeous view of the Mohawk River. The marina is in high demand from May 15 through October 15 each year. Although the interstate is only a short drive away, Arrowhead Marina & RV Park is a quiet, secluded camping facility.
This park is very pet-friendly and features a grassy, fenced dog area where man’s best friend can run and play freely. If your children get bored, take them to the gas dock for an afternoon of fishing. The water is full of bass, perch, catfish, and more.

Self-contained vehicles are welcome at this Albany-area campground during the cold season; all others must wait until the beginning of May to enter. Once the camping season begins, every RV guest gets water and electricity as well as a picnic table and fire ring. If you want a site with sewer hookups, you can make your request by calling the office.
A putting green sits at the center of this facility. On the long-term side of the park, you’ll find recreational amenities such as a basketball court and a baseball field. If you’re interested in seeing the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, consider making your reservations at this family campground. It’s very close to the New York State Thruway but deep enough in the woods to get away from the noise. The park has all the amenities that are necessary to keep you comfortable.
The lake on the property of this campground near Albany, New York is safe for swimming in the beach area. It’s also good for fishing; in fact, the staff sometimes plans a fishing derby for the guests. Lee’s Park Campground is in the town of Saratoga Springs, New York. This RV park is relatively basic, and it becomes incredibly popular during the summer concert season. Although it doesn’t offer a ton of amenities, Lee’s Park Campground features a boat dock.

Rip Van Winkle Campgrounds is a family vacation destination located in the New York Catskills. The property features 11 camping fun zones. Campers can enjoy everything from ladder golf to swimming without leaving the campground.
This property offers all the fun of camping without leaving any household amenities behind. The park has its own general store and offers complimentary coffee each morning. Sites are exceptionally large although there is a limit of six campers per site. The park hosts several seasonal events, including horseshoe tournaments, county fairs and ice cream socials. The park has an outdoor movie theater, a swimming pool, R/C tracks and a soft serve ice cream shop. This is easily one of the most entertaining RV parks near Kingston.

On our first visit, seeing we had a dog and 1 year old in tow, offered us an upgrade to an RV (they no longer rent out) as we had traveled up early in the season during a cold spell.
