We could NOT put out our awning all the way. The way to avoid this is to book early and request a sideview slot rather than a front view one…there are only a couple or so of those but have much more room. You are buying a well equipped parking spot with solid water, electric, sewer and wifi…and a spectacular water view in a clean and quiet central location. I gave it an 8 for the beauty! Located a little over 8 miles away from Acadia National Park in Southwest Harbor, ME, Smuggler’s Den Campground is on the free Island Express Shuttle service with access to Acadia National Park and island attractions. This family owned campground is run by 3 generations of the Worcester Family. They offer friendly hospitality and nice amenities. Enjoy the heated pools, or take the 20 minute walk to the sandy beaches of Echo Lake in Acadia National Park. Other trails lead to views of Somes Sound, St. Sauveur mountains, or climb the iron ladder trail to the stunning views of Beech Cliff.
