It used to be one of America’s best-kept secrets, but it’s surely not such a secret anymore.
Oregon is a very, very special place. From the wonderful wackiness of Portland to the delicious sips of wine you can enjoy in its western hills, all the way to the stunning coastline that easily rivals California’s, there’s no shortage of reasons to visit the so-called Beaver State. (See? We told you it was a little wacky.)
And with so much to see and do, it’s no surprise that RVing has become more and more popular across the Pacific Northwest, but particularly in Oregon. After all, it’s one of the favorite homes of many members of the up-and-coming tiny house community, which shares a love of minimalism and adventure with us RVers.
But even if you’re not quite ready to go searching for scrap wood and don’t know the first thing about cobbling together a livable building, you can see the great state of Oregon from the comfort of your very own private home on wheels. RVs are a wonderful way to see the country, especially for those of us who like to maintain our privacy and our sense of adventure at the same time. And there’s a whole heap of unforgettable RV parks and campgrounds in Oregon, just waiting for your next camping adventure.
There are plenty of RV rentals available in Oregon, whether you choose to use a big-name commercial dealership or go through the peer-to-peer marketplace here at RVshare. In fact, if you do, you’re likely to find some really special RVs at great prices. From fairy wagons to converted school buses and teardrop trailers, if there’s a “weird” RV out there you’ve had your heart set on trying, chances are some Oregonians have one for rent!
But after a while, it’s pretty much inevitable that you’re going to fall completely in love with the lifestyle and want a rig of your very own. (Hey, it happens to the best of us.)
RV shows are a fantastic way to scope out many different options in a short amount of time, especially if you’re fairly new to RVing and not sure exactly what you’re looking for. Plus, since many dealers are all gathered together and competing for your business, you can find some of the best prices on the market, even for brand-new rigs!
And even better, Oregon is the host state for some of the best RV shows in the country. (Again, no surprise… who wouldn’t want to take on the road when they live in such a beautiful state?)
Here are the best RV shows in Oregon that you don’t want to miss.
1. The Portland Metro Dealers Annual RV Show
The largest RV show of its type in the area, the Portland Metro Dealers show is this year in its 59th running. Fifty-nine years of Portland travel trailer shows! Can you imagine?
So it’s no surprise that this is one of the smoothest-run, most fun, and efficient RV camper shows in Oregon. And it’s coming up quick, so if you don’t want to miss out, you’d better keep reading.
Why You’ll Love the Portland Metro Dealers Annual RV Show
Along with being populated by almost a dozen of the Portland area’s best-known and well-loved RV dealers, the Portland Metro Dealers Annual RV Show goes above and beyond when it comes to ensuring you get the very best price on your next rig. In fact, it’s actually part of their official mission to do so.
The Portland Metro Dealers Association states its mission as follows:
- To bring the consumer quality shows, providing the greatest variety of products in one central location.
- Dealers are active in lobbying and influence to keep the consumers, state and federal fees and taxes at a minimum making the RV more cost-effective.
That means you don’t have to worry about being swindled or making a bad deal at this expo. Plus, with on-the-spot financing options, you can walk out of the show with the keys to your dreamy new rig in hand right away!
Even if you somehow don’t find the perfect rig amongst the hundreds of models available, there are still lots of valuable reasons to attend the show. For example, the organizers do a gas card giveaway each and every day of the expo, which could offset some of the cost of your next vacation!
You’ll also get the chance to interact with expert vendors offering outdoor equipment and outfitting, new camping technology, and more. It’s a great opportunity for any outdoorsman (or woman!), and it’s all taking place in the most exciting city in the Pacific Northwest.

Why You’ll Love the Salem Spring RV Show
With exhibit space taking up two large buildings, Oregon RV dealers pull out all the stops at this camper and RV show. You’ll find tons of the latest models from the highest-end manufacturers, sold by reliable vendors for special show prices. A few of the makes that will be represented this year include the following:

- and many more!
These rigs will span all different types and classes, from travel trailers and toy haulers to large, Class A diesel pushers. Along with the most up-to-date, hot-off-the-manufacturer-floor models, you’ll also be able to browse a variety of used rigs that offer both affordability and comfort. Smart move!
The Salem Spring RV Show also features special entertainment and educational opportunities for the whole family — even the four-legged members. Willamette Valley Animal Hospital’s Dr. Meese will be standing by to meet your pet and help get them ready for their RV adventure, whether Fido’s a first-timer or an old dog, so to speak. More information about other fun activities will be available on the website about two weeks before showtime.
Our favorite part of all? The price of your single-entry ticket grants you access to the show for all four days! That means if you see a rig you love, but need a night to sleep on it, you won’t have to shell out another $7.00 just to have the opportunity to get back in the door.

Living in Eugene has its perks — you’re in a central location with easy access to all the outdoor fun in Bend and all the beauty of the Oregon coastline. But when it comes to big events, sometimes it can feel like everything is going on up north in Portland.
But if you’re a Eugener wondering, “Where are the RV shows near me?” — well, we’ve got the answer! And it’s coming to the Lane County Fairgrounds this spring.
Why You’ll Love the Eugene Spring RV Show
Organized by the same minds behind the long-running Salem Spring RV Show, this expo is a perfect solution if you want to get to a camping show this spring but can’t quite make it up to Salem. Plus, it takes place in March as opposed to February, meaning the weather will have the chance to warm up just a few more degrees!
The Eugene Spring RV Show will host tons of area dealers, who will be offering both new and used RVs and travel trailers across makes, models, brands, and price brackets. You’ll see Class A, B, and C motorhomes as well as different styles of travel trailers and smaller campers, including the tent trailer, teardrop trailers, and conversion vans that are so popular in the Pacific Northwest.
Along with RV dealers, the show will also feature tons of experts eager to help you with any questions you might have, as well as provide product demonstrations for new camping technology. And it’s fun for the little ones, too: with entertainment and free balloons, you can be sure the whole family will be glad they came to this event!
