Mousetail Landing State Park encompasses a massive land area of 1,247 acres and is located on the eastern bank of the Tennessee River near Linden, Tennessee. It was established in 1986, which makes it relatively new compared to most of the other public parks in the state. Its name is believed to be based on an event from the Civil War during which a tannery caught fire, causing a strangely large number of mice that had infested it to flee.
