Boston Massachusetts Class A RV Rental Reviews

Very fun and memorable experience!

We booked this RV with the promise that it would be delivered and picked up from our house if we booked it by April 1st. This was very important to us and we planned our departure around her promised delivery time. Two days prior to our departure, we got a text from Kimber saying she could not deliver at the set time. She could deliver late which would've delayed our departure, or we could pick it up the night before and then drop it off after our trip at a 1/2 way point. No apology was offered for this inconvenience nor any compensation for the time and effort we now had to put in so that we could leave for our vacation on time. Additionally we were told the unit was professionally detailed and we paid $100 cleaning fee, yet we found hair and crumbs around the mattresses, the outdoor fridge had not been cleaned at all and the floor was very dirty as was discovered when some water spilled and I wiped it up; the paper towel was brown with filth. The unit is also listed as "no pets ever", which was important to us as one of our children has pet allergies, but when we lifted the kitchen cushions we found all sorts of blonde pet hair. She had told us that a prior renter had smoked in the RV, which is listed as Non Smoking, and although she said she'd be filing a claim against them, it seems no money or effort was put in to remove the unpleasant smell. Most disappointing was that when we returned the unit after taking very good care of it including fixing the outdoor kitchen door which was not latching or locking when we took possession, Kimber decided to hold us accountable for the microwave not working when on the generator, which we wouldn't have known since a) she never demonstrated that it did work on the generator and b) we never used it on the generator during our trip but it worked perfectly fine when on shore power. She's also holding us accountable for the bottom kitchen drawer which, during our trip, stopped latching for travel, but through no fault of our own. It slid out while we were traveling and we couldn't figure out why or how to fix it. Still, we did nothing to cause this but she has filed a claim against us for both microwave and kitchen drawer. As a matter of courtesy to Kimber, we noted other things that we found weren't working properly so that she could proactively fix them before they became a problem for her or future renters; kitchen tap kept falling off, a window screen was falling, etc, but as we were showing her these things she indicated that we would also be financially responsible for them. No appreciation for us trying to help her out. Such a disappointing way to both start and end what was a fabulous family vacation.

This was our first experience using RVShare and I'm afraid that the experience was so good, that it set the bar too high. Everything from the communication, pickup, RV quality, to drop off was so wonderful, that I don't know if it was beginner's luck or just that Jim and his family were just that great.
