Hi Dawn, I’m writing to let you know about our experience with renting your Viking trailer. It was easy to tow and maneuver! The electric breaks worked fine. Setup at the camp sites only took a few minutes. The microwave was great to have so we did not need to use the stove at all. The sink was nice even though the foldable arm came loose once when I was using it. We didn’t have any problems with the A/C or the refrigerator. It was nice that we could freeze water bottles at night for the next day. The first night was at Zion. Soon after we arrived, it started to rain a little. We thought we would need to drive into the park the next day, so I tried to disconnect the trailer from our Pilot. I released the latch on the trailer that secures the trailer to the hitch, disconnected the electrical connection and the two chains that attach to the vehicle. I then began to lower the jack by using the crank handle. As the bottom of the jack came into contact with the ground and the trailer started to raise off of the trailer hitch, the jack suddenly gave out. Since it was starting to rain harder, I went inside and left the trailer attached to the Pilot. As you already know, when we started to convert the table area into a sleeping area for the dog, we discovered that both small square windows were leaking water. With some duct tape and plastic garbage bags I was able to fabricate somewhat of a rain gutter to divert the water so the inside of your trailer would not wet. When we went to the other side of the trailer, we found that rectangular window was leaking very badly. Our sleeping bags were soaked and so was the plastic that covered the mattress. We used paper towels to soak up as much water as we could. We emptied the large, clear plastic bin you had cooking stuff in and placed it under the leaking window to catch the water that continued to drip. Fortunately it did not rain all night. The bin caught all the water and nothing else got wet that night. The next night it did not rain, so no problems. When we arrived in Colorado on Saturday and I had time to get some silicone sealant and seal the cracks that I could see. We continued on to Utah where it rained and the trailer leaked. This time from the very top where the two halves meet at the top. I may not have made sure the two halves locked but it looked like part of the gasket was not attached properly on the door side. Our last stop was in Las Vegas where we had a brief down pour after we had gone to bed. I awoke to my wife telling me she was getting wet! The rectangular window was leaking again, but not nearly as bad as in Zion. Obviously I didn’t see all the cracks in the sealant around the window. These problems were very frustrating to deal with and totally unexpected. There certainly is some maintenance that should be done before the trailer goes out again. Please let us know how you will adjust our cost due to the problems we had. Jim Childers
