Lake Bruin Campground

Located around Lake Bruin, one of Louisiana's freshwater bodies, Lake Bruin Campground is the place to be for a series of fun lake activities. Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge

Located 44.5 miles from Lake Bruin State Park, Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge was founded in 1980 to protect hardwood forests. The forest features black bears and over 400 species of reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals. Such beauty and abundant wildlife have made hunting, fishing and photography the park's popular fun events. As you arrive, the visitors center will help you find the best spots to start your adventure. Plus, interpreters are always on-site and ready to help you on your self-guided hike.

Delta Music Museum

Approximately 40 minutes' drive from Lake Bruin State Park, Delta Music Museum offers shows on notable rock and blues musicians whose backgrounds are rooted in central Louisiana. Located in Ferriday, a small town in Louisiana, this museum tells the story of country music songwriters, rockers and Delta bluesmen who have multiple international approvals. You'll get to see and learn about stories of notable singers such as Mickey Gilley through numerous photos and artifacts in the museum.

Frogmore Cotton Plantation and Gins

If you're interested in history, the area around Lake Bruin State Park has got you covered. A guided tour at the Frogmore Cotton Plantation and Gins will help you learn more about how the plantation came into existence, the changes made over the past years and the effects of the plantation changes. Located just a few miles from Lake Bruin State Park, this plantation sits on a 1,800-acre piece of land, and its history dates way back to 1815. You'll know how the farm transformed from being a wagon trail to a Civil War encampment to its present state as a functioning cotton operation.

Lake Bruin State Park

From US 65, take LA 128 east and travel towards LA 605 north. Then proceed to LA 604, and you'll only be a few miles from the park entrance.
