Beaver Dam State Park

Beaver Dam is named after an old dam created by the industrious rodents to form the original lake discovered in the 19th century. The park is a haven for fishing where young people learn the techniques of angling from parents or specialists. Beaver Dam State Park Campground

Beaver Dam State Park is centered around the 59-acre lake stocked with channel catfish, bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass, and redear sunfish. Hiking and biking trails run throughout the park. Country Bend Campground

Country Bend Campground is an RV campground that is only 40 minutes away from Beaver Dam State Park. Beaver Dam State Park is considered a fishing park augmented with activities to interest campers of all ages. Hiking and biking trails loop around the lake as well as through wooded and clear areas. How to Get to
Beaver Dam State Park

Beaver Dam State Park is located seven miles south of Carlinville, IL. From Interstate 55 (I-55), take Hwy 108 west to Carlinville. Drive straight through town to the fourth stop sign. Turn left and drive to the park. 

Entering Beaver Dam State Park

When entering Beaver Dam State Park, stop at the office to verify your reservation or pick out a camping site. The park has an official check-out time of 1 p.m. and a check-in time of 2:30 p.m. There is no fee to enter any Illinois state park.
