Seagoville, Texas, has a long, rich history dating back to 1876 when a man named T.K. Seago found the land of this unique town. He cleared the timber from his land, used it to build the first store, and eventually assumed the role of Postmaster in 1881. The town's first official plat was recorded in Dallas County Deed Records in 1883 and the second in 1926 upon the incorporation of the city of Seagoville.

The city is a hub for visiting major attractions in and around the city. The Dallas World Aquarium is around 21 miles from Seagoville, featuring various underwater plant and animal species. Carberryi anthias, napoleon wrasse, colt coral, and zebra angelfish are a small part of what you'll be able to see at the aquarium. Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a nearby place to discover scientific wonders and facts.

Visitors to Seagoville will want to spend part of the day at the Dallas County Nature Preserve, which contains one of the last stands of Post Oak Savannah. The preserve offers 2.75 miles of natural surface trails to hike and explore the many wonders of nature and its beauty. For the brave, check out the Trinity Forest Adventure Park, where you can dangle for ziplines as high as 50 feet, with the longest one being 100 feet long.

If you have youngsters along with you or love animals, the Dallas Zoo is just a 28-minute drive from the city. Aside from the zoo animals, there are educational programs for young children. Experience more at the zoo with a zoologist's guided tour and get the inside scoop on the animals.

They are known to stand as tall as 14 feet and weigh 20,000 pounds. Within the park's 108 acres, visitors can look back to the Texas Ice Age, a habitat for many species like the roadrunner and raccoons. The hiking paths lead visitors past a Texas Live Oak tree that is as old as America's constitution, honey locust plants that were there during the ice age, and possibly a few rambunctious roadrunners or elusive deer.
