Ward's Avenger Rocks!!! Rented from Kandy at nearly the last second for the Ironman GNCC National in Crawfordsville. We picked it up at 1pm Saturday afternoon and were able to keep it until 6pm Sunday. Kandy and her husband had the trailer ready with the hitch/sway assembly already out awaiting our arrival. They arranged there afternoon to accommodate our pick up time. We got a great explanation/overview of the beautiful camper and were hooked up and on our way in about 30 minutes. The trailer towed very smooth even in the high wind likely thanks to the very nice sway assembly. They had already started the heat for us so when we arrived at the raceway the camper was nice and warm! We actually had to turn the heat down because it worked so well. The generator ran all night on one tank of gas which surprised me. It was very easy to operate even in the cold and not annoying. (We set it right at the back of the camper) Refrigerator and freezer did a fine job. We didn't use the microwave, cooktop or oven but both appeared to be newer. We didn't use the shower either. (Don't judge...we were only gone a little over 24 hours. Ha!) The trailer came with 40 gal of fresh water and full LP tanks. Wood blocks for jack leveling were provided as was a cordless drill to facilitate fast operation of the leveling jacks. Firewood was also offered for a small fee but the folks we were meeting already had plenty. Not sure about the other review comment stating the lighting is dark. We were in the middle of a field, pitch black except for the cloud covered moon and found the interior lighting to be plenty bright. Actually didn't even turn them all on. We did use the exterior speakers of the sound system while working on our bikes under the canopy! Pretty neat feature! If you are looking for great 'bang for the buck', smooth and easy, no drama rental, Ward's Avenger is for you!
My husband and I are in our late 50's and this is the third RV we've owned. We have so many wonderful memories with our children. We love camping. Unfortunately, we are new "empty nesters" , so we don't go out as often. We have 20 years experience with awesome trips and we've learned the "do's & don'ts". Would love to share with you.
