Tardis Road Tripper - bigger on the inside, takes you to new adventures

Details
  • 2009 Coachmen Freelander
  • Class C Motor Home
  • Sleeps 5
  • Length 26 ft.
Description

The perfect sized rig for your vacation. This 26' RV based on Ford's E-450 and V10 Trident engine is the perfect size. Not too small to give you room to stretch out in, but not too big so you aren't restricted to what campsites/RV parks you go to.

The Tardis is bigger on the inside than the outside thanks to the living room slider and the above-cab "attic" which can sleep two. The queen size bed with a comfortable mattress is in the back leaving a nice open area for the dining room and kitchen. There is a -large- basement to put all of your luggage when not in use, and plenty of storage inside.

Perfect for a family of four or five - either a weekend getaway or a multi-month road trip.
* sleeps two in the queen bed (linens, blankets, pillows and towels for two included)
* sleeps two in the queen bed in attic (available at additional fee: linens, blankets, pillows and towels for two)
* sleeps one on dining room table/bed conversion (available at additional fee: linens, blankets, pillows and towels for one)

* Fully equipped kitchen, inclusive of flatware, cutlery, cups, pots and pans, etc. for six.
* Pet Friendly - negotiable - depending on pet(s) with pet charge.
* Must stay on concrete/asphalt surface at all times
* Any signs of misuse or abuse will incur additional fees
* No Smoking: To maintain a pleasant environment for all renters, smoking is not permitted within 50 feet of the RV. A cleaning fee of $500 will be assessed if smells associated with the smoking of tobacco, marijuana, vaping or other drugs is detected upon return.

This was a very spacious and well equipped RV. It was comfortable, drove well. We were impressed dealing with Chris. He explained everything easily, clearly and thoroughly.

We rented this RV for an 8 day trip to a Yosemite camp ground that did not have hook-ups. It proved to be very comfortable.

Advertised as sleeps 6; however it is best for 2 adults with one or two kids. Very uncomfortable for two adults to sleep over cab as cab over board sags. Didn't care for seating arrangement. Even with slide out, only has one upholstered chair besides dining table benches, so was not comfortable inside seating. Can be somewhat difficult to drive depending on road condition. Was charged $178.21 to replace one hubcap that came off, unknowingly, during trip. If I owned and rented a motor home, I would have assumed the cost of hubcap replacement rather than passing on to renter. I would have assumed it to be normal wear and tear rather than the renter’s fault.
I won’t use RV Share again either because on top of the hubcap charge of $178.21, RV Share charged an $18.98 fee to process this charge.

Response from Chris

RVshare has recently allowed us to respond to reviews. Thank you for your feedback.

We have replaced the overcab mattress and it is much more comfortable now.

The manufacture states it sleeps 5-6 but have taken your advise and changed the listing to 5 as not all renters would be comfortable with six.

Hub caps go missing but when purchased as replacements only come in sets of four as they are not all matching - unfortunate for all.

Again, thank you for your comments and your rental.

We had the most wonderful RV trip through the Western national parks in the Tardis Roadtripper (whom we named Karl). The RV is excellently set up, and there wasn't a thing we missed, down to a spaghetti pot strainer! The pop-out was amazing and made everything so roomy. We were super comfortable in the back bed, and our two teen-age daughters loved sleeping in the "attic" over the cab. This was a perfect size for four people for an extended trip. We even brought our cats, who loved it! Chris and Ani have put a lot of thought, attention, and love into this RV, and it shows. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing their RV "home" and look forward to a return trip!

About the Owner, Chris

We've owned our RV for six years now and feel we have a resource that others could use as well. We've taken several major trips - the longest being seven weeks through National Parks north of I-80, from the Rockies west - inclusive of Alberta and BC. We've traveled throughout California with the RV and now that the kids are grown, are traveling internationally a lot. I am an avid hiker having more than 2500 miles under my boots in the last three years inclusive of three 500+ mile trips through Spain and Portugal. I work in IT in the health care industry and my wife works with a local school district. It is important that the renters of our RV are respectful people and would treat our second home as they wish others treat their own home.
