Once we arrived to pick up the RV we were told that the generator that ran the air conditioner and refrigerator while operating the vehicle was inoperable. We were told that it would work fine once it was plugged in but not while driving. The refrigerator stopped working a few days prior to the rental ending resulting in about $100-150 in groceries spoiling. The refrigerator had mold/dirt in the corners when we picked it up and a very pungent odor emitting from it. The floor was very dirty when we picked up the rental as were the drawers in the kitchen. When leaving the neighborhood with the vehicle I noticed the check engine light was on. There was an extreme shake when the vehicle reached 65-70 miles per hour. While plugged in at the RV Park a burning smell came from the air conditioner. We pulled the air conditioner cover and found that the air filter was completely covered with dirt and lint. After cleaning the filter the air conditioner worked fine. We called the owner with the burning smell and was told to call roadside assistance so they could come look at the vehicle. While talking to roadside assistance we were told that the only assistance on our policy was towing and flat tires. The vehicle would not charge the battery while it was plugged into the RV Park so we had to keep the motor running if we wanted to use the overhead lights.
I found out after the rental that Auto Zone had sold me an out of date house battery that went bad during the rental. The customer was compensated before returning. This review was not even written unril after the next customer had a great rental and posted a good review. Pretty crappy of this person.I did everything that I could to help this customer when the battery went bad, unbeknownst to me and they posted this “review “. Pretty sorry!
