The region also features a living history exhibit, "Missouri Town 1855" that represents a typical antebellum small town in during this era. During the year, Fleming Park also hosts a number of popular festivals and events, including craft festivals in fall and an old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration.

Additionally, several miles of hiking trails, a native hoofed animal enclosure, marina, campgrounds, and the Kemper Outdoor Education Center also provide numerous exciting activities to enjoy.

Other must-visit outdoor attractions include the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, the Overland Park Farmers Market (every Saturday), and the Indian Creek Greenway.
