RV Rental Jacksonville FL

Jacksonville, Florida

There's plenty to do while on vacation in Jacksonville. From entertainment venues like Theatre Jacksonville to outdoor areas like Dogwood Park to educational opportunities like the Museum of Science and History, there's never a dull moment in this city. If you can believe it, an RV rental can make it even better.

Renting an RV in Jacksonville is a fun experience all its own, not to mention incredibly easy with the help of RVshare. A place to stay and entertain on the move, a motorhome gets you where you need to go and then some. Before you can think about renting one, though, you need to learn about the different classes of RV to make an informed decision about what you might need.

There are three classes in total, the first being Class A. The biggest of these vehicles, a Class A can comfortably fit around eight people without a problem, having room enough for them to move about inside. One of the main draws for a Class A besides its sheer size is how luxurious the inside is, similar to the interior of a house. Typically outfitted with the best electronics, kitchen utilities, and other things that make riding in one more akin to staying at an expensive hotel, a Class A's only downsides are the price point (for both renting and refueling due to poor gas mileage) and how some people without much experience driving large vehicles might have difficulty.

Next is the Class B. The Class B is a bit more humble in size and presentation while still being a fancy set of wheels. Equipped with many of the same amenities as the Class A, the Class B usually fits around six people or so. While a bit easier to use for people without large vehicle experience and slightly better in terms of gas mileage, it can still be somewhat overwhelming for first-time drivers.

Finally, there's the Class C. While they're the smallest of the three RV classes and only seat around four people, this also makes them the easiest to use and most fuel-efficient. Built into the chassis of a traditional truck, they drive somewhat similar to a normal vehicle and are often the easiest for first-time renters to get the hang of. While their interiors can be a bit sparse and lack the luxury of the other options, they more than get the job done at a fraction of the cost.

An RV isn't all you can rent for your vacation, though. There are also a number of pull-behind trailer campers that serve a similar purpose. This can be a good option for someone who already owns a powerful truck that can tow large and heavy objects, with trailer camper rentals typically being cheaper than renting an RV.

Many of these trailers are in the smaller range, similar to the B or C Class RVs in terms of size and general layout. Both travel trailer and pop-up camper rentals in Jacksonville fit into this category, the former being a large live-in trailer pulled behind your vehicle while the latter's canvas walls allow it to fold down when on the road and not in use. However, this trend is broken by the fifth wheel trailer, often being just as large and luxurious as a full Class A RV and requiring a very powerful truck with an in-bed hitch to pull it along. Finally, there's the simple toy hauler, effectively working as a miniature garage for small vehicles like ATVs and jet skis.

Staying overnight at a campground while renting an RV in Jacksonville is almost as fun as your actual vacation plans. Filled with friendly people and useful perks, a campground is a safe and exciting place to park and wind down at the end of the day.

One of the best RV campgrounds in Jacksonville is Pecan Park RV Resort. Located near the best restaurants and stores in the northern part of the city, this attractive campground provides you with all the amenities you could want, from an on-site pool to great Wi-Fi and cell service to a clubhouse to hang out with the other campers. US National & State Parks Nearby Jacksonville

Visiting a national park is one of the quintessential RV trip experiences, so it's lucky that Florida has one of the best in the country in Everglades National Park. The park encompasses much of Florida's famous evergreen forests, any trip automatically becoming unforgettable after looking upon them in all their majesty. Florida's trademark humidity is present all year round with the expected warm to hot temperatures, though frequent rain can help to cool you off.

Some of the most popular activities in the park revolve around admiring nature. Birdwatching, stargazing and camping are just some of the great ways to spend your time here. For a more guided tour, rangers offer educational activities and airboat tours across the water on the regular and a full calendar of events hosted all year. With so many beaches, wetlands, and rivers, Florida has so many beautiful areas to explore nature and wildlife. And there are many state parks where you can do just that!

RV Storage Facilities in Jacksonville, Florida

When you're not using your RV, who is watching your vehicle? Hopefully, it's no one, but that's not exactly a safe decision unless you're keeping it at an RV storage facility. They provide you a secure place to keep your RV when you're not using it with around-the-clock security and plentiful garage spaces to protect your motorhome from the elements.

A dumpstation is a designated area for dumping the waste collected inside your RV. Thankfully, there's plenty of these dumpstations scattered around Jacksonville, most in conjunction with campgrounds or storage facilities. Most of these facilities are free to use if you're already staying there, though even outsiders are allowed to use their stations for a small fee of around $20 in most cases. Examples include Pelican Roost RV Park, Fleetwood RV Park and Dick Gore's RV World.
