Motorhome, Camper and RV Rentals Frisco, TX

Frisco, Texas

When you hear the name “Frisco,” you probably think of San Francisco, don’t you? Or maybe you’re an old “General Hospital” fan from way back when. What most people don’t know is that there’s a city in Texas named Frisco, and that it’s pretty cool. Located 28 miles due north of Dallas, this lesser known Frisco may not be as big and flashy as the California city or as smoldering as the soap opera character, but it does have quite a few feathers in its proverbial cap. Money magazine named it one of the best places in the US to live in 2008, and Forbes called it one of the best places to relocate in 2009. It was also certified as a scenic city in 2011.

On top of all that, there are some great arts activities and historical sites, beautiful open spaces, and lots of sports: minor league baseball and basketball, plus the NHL’s Dallas Stars (even though hockey might not be the first sport you think of in Texas). When you’re ready to check out this Frisco, here are some spots to visit.

Popular Tourist Attractions

Frisco Heritage Museum

If you love to learn about the history of the areas you visit, the Frisco Heritage Museum is the perfect spot to educate yourself about Frisco’s past. Historical artifacts, lots of old photos, and multimedia displays take you through time. There’s an activity center for kids, and you can walk through the past in Heritage Center village. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, and admission is $8 for the whole family, or $4 for adults (less for kids and seniors).

Frisco Commons Park

This is just a great spot to bring the family for a few hours or the whole day. Grab your rod and reel, bring your bathing suit, and pack a lunch for all sorts of outdoor fun. There’s a huge playground, a spray park and splash pad, a lake for fishing, walking trails, a nature garden, space to grill and have a picnic, and much more.

Texas Sculpture Garden

It’s located in an office park development, which is definitely an odd spot for a sculpture garden as lovely as this one. However, once you get past the strange location, you’ll be inspired at all of the interesting and unique works of art scattered around the landscape and also displayed inside. Whether your tastes tend toward the realistic or the abstract, you’ll find something that catches your eye. The outside collection is open for the public to view daily from dawn until dusk, and the inside collection is open 9:00am to 5:00pm weekdays and 9:00am to noon on Saturdays.

Campgrounds and State/National Parks

Hidden Cove Park

Both a full service marina and a full service campground and RV park, Hidden Cove is perfect for RVers who love the water. Full and partial hookups are available, and because it’s located right on Lake Lewisville, guests have full access to everything the water has to offer. Fishing and swimming, yes, but also boat rentals, jet ski rentals, and kayaking. There’s a floating bar, playgrounds, hiking trails, horseshoe pits, and so much more to enjoy during your camper rental Frisco TX.

Hickory Creek Park

Also on Lake Lewisville, Hickory Creek Park is a dedicated campsite with both RV and tent spots. Water and electric hookups are available, and all RV sites include a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Restrooms with showers are on site, there’s a playground, a trail, and fishing access with your camper rental Frisco Texas!

Stewart Creek Park

Located just outside of Frisco in The Colony (yes, that’s the name of the town), Stewart Creek Park is a quiet place to pull in for the night. Electric and water hookups are available for RVs. The beautiful lake provides great water views, there’s a playground, and rates are more than reasonable for your trailer rental Frisco TX!
