Where to even begin. This was my first RV trip and I would absolutely do it again, especially with Von’s RV. I’ll start with why it was so good and then move to what I learned so that new RV travelers might not have to learn on the fly like I did. Von’s 2007 Daybreak was huge, easy to drive, and comfortable. We drove, cooked, showered, slept, watched movies (we brought our own blueray player with an AVI adapter), and more. Everything we wanted was there for a great trip. If the weather held up and if we had more time we would have even spent some time outside under the awning (he has a metal fire pit and camp chairs in a compartment and there are outlets on the outside of the unit even). Now working from back to front. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the bed is comfortable and not much light gets back there if you did want to sleep in a bit (but lights of course if you need to see). There are then two twin bunks in the middle bump out. He has some extra foam on the beds so they were pretty soft as well. There is an AC unit in the back that blew cold. We cranked it up the first night too high and woke up frozen, night two we dialed it back and it was perfect. Right across from the bunks is the bathroom. The bathroom is small, but has a toilet, sink, and shower. The water came in hot when needed and all fixtures functioned. Next forward is the dining area and kitchen. We used the stove, fridge, freezer, and sink. The stove worked well (electric ignition, so no matches needed) it cooked our food evenly and some pans were included in the drawers. That is the only gripe from the kitchen, the drawers. When driving they open and close on occasion. Von said that was his next project, so that might be solved by the time the next person rents the unit. The kitchen, dining, living room area is the front bump out and it was very spacious. A second AC unit, so again, very comfortable). The couch, table bench, and chair were fine. The two captain’s chairs that spun 360 up front were really comfortable. We drove for hours and I felt great the entire time. The table and couch turn into beds. We did not need the table bed, so no comment, but the pull out couch was as good as any other couch. Not as good as a real bed, but I spelt fine. There were shades on all the windows including the huge windshield up front. They blocked all the direct light, but there was a glow through that made it hard to sleep past 8. So if you want to get up early to hike, great. If you want to stay up until 2 or 3 am, not as great (but really, that was my fault for having too much fun and staying up. The RV is 35 feet overall, so it is not small, but there is a backup camera as well as your passengers can help spot you or direct as needed. It makes tighter turns than I expected, so we never had issues getting into or out of spots. Lastly, Von is the owner and he is another great aspect of this RV. He wants to make the trip as comfortable as possible. He was a pleasure to work with, he was responsive, and just an overall good guy; he’ll make sure you have the best experience possible, very accommodating. Oh, last note, bring pillows, bedding, and food/drinks; that’s really it. Now, outside of this RV, as a renter there are some things to know. Get familiar with the RV before you go. Have the owner show you before you leave and read any literature possible (Von helped here and was all over this, but I did not even know what questions to ask). Many things are intuitive, but finding switches, valves, and compartments is tough, especially when you do not know what you are looking for and it’s dark. Remember if you leave the USA you might or might not have phone reception depending on your plan. We suffered a flat tire to no fault of the owner, the tire blew. It was not bald, just something that happens. When we found a phone to call the roadside assistance included in the rental they really did not do anything. They gave us two options, either we can be towed to a shop within 50 miles that we provide the address for (it was 11PM, in Canada, and not many shops work on 35 foot RVs) or they can mount a spare for us (assuming you have one). So if you do not know the name or address of a shop or don’t have a spare/can’t find it you’re SOL. Roadside assistance would only mount the tire, they would not bring one, seemed unhelpful, especially given our situation. Roadside assistance has a number, but RVShare only has a website, no phone numbers anywhere. This makes it hard to get in touch with them to ask questions. Since we needed a tire we wanted to ask are we allowed to authorize work or how does reimbursement work? Luckily we got a hold of Von shortly after and he said just take care of it and he’ll reimburse everything. This again goes back to him trying to make the experience a great one. There was no hesitation or negotiation, he did not ask us to price shop, it was spend whatever you need to finish your trip and he’ll cover it. We got a company to bring a tire out and install it, they were there within the hour and after another hour of labor (dually in the back, so the flat was the right rear inside tire) we were good to go (thank you to Popular Tire in Mississauga, Ontario). In closing, even with a hiccup or two, we had a great trip and would absolutely do it again. I would try to rent from Von in the future (next summer?) for a longer trip. Von was great, his RV was great, and I could not recommend both more. Just make sure you do your research to understand the vehicle and any other situations you might encounter. That goes for any RV, this beautiful beast or any other you may choose to rent.
James was amazing to rent from. This was out first experience renting an RV and we could not have asked for a better experience. James walked us through the process and was available whenever we needed him. He is a wonderful man and the RV is amazing. We enjoyed this vacation immensely and it was nice knowing we could call him when needed and was so nice through out the process..plus the RV was easy to use. It also came with many of the needed Staples. Loved it.
This was our first time renting an RV and Glen and Liz were a pleasure to deal with. They were incredibly thorough at pickup and I left feeling confident that I could operate the RV with confidence. Communication was also top notch and when I had a question during our trip they responded immediately. The RV itself is exactly as pictured and easily fit my family of five. It's well maintained and fully stocked with everything you could ever need and is very driveable. The grill is an terrific perk that we used multiple times each day. Just bring clothes and food and you're all set. Thanks so much Glen and Liz, I hope to rent from you again in the future.
Everything about this rental experience was wonderful. Tom and Stacie are a pleasure to work with.
This mini trailer is awesome. Lightweight and easy to attach to the hitch. I needed to add an extra day and they let me have it for the same price. Thank you. It made camping so much easier.
Andrew was very good with communicating all of the amenities and operation of the vehicle the vehicle was very well-maintained any issues were addressed
Scott was easy to work with and very helpful and showed us how everything worked, inlcuding how to hook it up to our hitch. Pick up and drop off was quick and easy. The camper was exactly as pictured/described with everything working and in good condition. We are already planning our next trip and will rent this camper again (if it's available!)
We appreciated the prompt response from Jennifer and the ease of communication with Hal. We requested that the trailer be delivered and set-up at our campground site. At check-in, the trailer was already set-up, and Hal thoroughly went over and explained everything to us. This trailer was very clean, well-kept and comfortable, especially the king-sized bed. The bunk-house has an abundance of storage and four bunks. There is no TV, but there is a very nice stereo radio that, for us, complemented the quiet and serene setting. We were very pleased with our experience an are looking forward to renting this trailer again!
It was a pleasure dealing with Flo, she responded in a timely fashion, was knowledgeable, flexible, and answered my questions. The camper was as described, clean, and worked properly. Had everything needed included and alot of extras. Great camper for the cost. I will be renting from her again and recommended this rental.
Great trailer for the value. Anthony is always communicative and gets back to you in short order.
The bunk house rv was great. The kids loved having their own space and we appreciated it too! Everything with the rv worked great and the well written instructions were helpful when we had questions. Highly recommended.
This was my second time renting an RV and first time using RV Share. Although our family had a great trip from New Jersey to Maine, I have several areas of concern going forward with RV rentals. Upon pick up I met the owner who seemed like a nice guy and walked me through his RV and we filled out the required paperwork. What I did not notice about the RV at the time of pick up was the horrible stench of dog urine, scent, and dog hair that was littered throughout the RV. The owner had both the generator A/C unit and RV A/C unit on full blast and had recently sprayed an air freshener to mask the scent. I did mention to him about the visible dog prints and slober on the windshield which he apologized for and told me it was from his pet bassett hound. Still not able to smell the horrible odor since it was masked, I told him no big deal and I cleaned the windshield for him. On our drive to Maine we tried to conserve generator hours and when we turned off the generator A/C we noticed the stench and had to deal with the nasty smell the entire trip. The owner had listed that it was not a pet friendly RV so we didn't think we had to worry about this issue only to find out his pets did not apply. Another area of concern was the water pressure to the shower and rear sink and that there was no water at all to the toilet. We are not everyday campers and just assumed that we could shower, wash, and use the sinks with the generator and water pump but that was not the case. His response time was several days and was in no rush to respond to our questions. There was no pressure at all since we were not connected to city water and couldn't shower or wash all week in the RV. We had to go elsewhere to do this. I contacted the owner and told him about this several times and he offered no explanation as to why there would be no pressure and just assumed we should have know we couldn't use these amenities without a city water hook up. So neither the rear sink, inside & outside shower, or toilet had water to them and were not usable. The owner also lists the RV as having navigation which it does not. Before we left the owner, William, told me that his blinds were bad and that he was going to replace them when he had the money and for us to try not to use them. This was unfortunate because all of the blinds were closed besides the windshield so we had to leave closed since they were inoperable and could not see out of any other windows. He then marked them as damaged i am now finding out as he did not mark any damages upon return of the RV on our final walk through for damages. Another area of concern is the mileage, generator, and tank level documentation and his totals do not add up. Upon return, the owner walked the RV inspecting for damage, tank levels, fuel, cleanliness, etc and did not mark anything down as we finalized paperwork and brought up no damages, tanks not emptied, areas of concern, etc. and we both signed off and I agreed. Now a week later he has completely been dishonest and has charged me for items previously he said were fine. Im disappointed in the integrity of the owner and now have to file a dispute as he is attempting to charge my account the $500 security deposit plus an additional $700 in made up expenses. Overall my family and I had a great trip and weren't even going to complain about the items not working or the putrid smell, until the owner falsified reports of damage, mileage, cleanliness, etc. just to get some extra money in his pocket. Thinking he was a good guy at first impression I am just disappointed he chose to act like this.
Cesar throughout our whole RV rental experience was extremely helpful. He also made himself available at any time of the day for anything we needed.
Our experience with Jim and Dinnie was wonderful. They are were so accommodating and friendly. We felt like we had know them forever. Upon entering the camper we immediately felt a homey feeling. Dinnie did a great job! Jim I'm sure took care of the outside setting up the chairs and carpet under the table. We will definitely rent from them again. Thank you for the memory!
My family of 5 just went for an RV Adventure for 3.5 days. The RV was great. Von was even better! As a beginner RV'er, I needed some hand-holding and Von went above and beyond! We had so much fun and we will definitely be back to rent again! My kids thought they died and went to heaven, especially with the BUNK BEDS!!!!
Abner was super friendly and easy to communicate with. His RV was very clean, ran great, and was very comfortable. Thanks, Abner... We hope to rent your RV again one day!
Owner was responsive and helpful with my questions. He was flexible with pickup and drop off. Very easy to work with. I will be renting from him again.
Easy time communicating and feeling good about the transaction. The RV was in good condition and had everything you would want and need.
Rick was a great owner to work with! He was flexible on the rental times and had great communication! If we don’t buy a camper we would definitely rent from Rick again!
RV was in tip-top shape with everything we needed to enjoy our week long vacation to Maine. Heather and her husband were a pleasure to work with and were very accommodating to our requests. Would definitely rent again from them!
It was a 5 star ! No problems what so ever would rent it again and would recommend to our friends
This was my first rv rental and I was so pleased with the whole experience. Annabelle was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The rv was fully stocked with everything we needed for the best home away from home experience. Just pack your food and personal items and settle in.
Jake was great to work with - communication was clear and reliable. He went over everything and made me feel comfortable with the trailer. Highly recommended.
I cannot recommend Glenn's RV enough. It has everything you could think you'll need and then some. We brought food and clothing and that's it. Everything else was provided, even a smores kit! Glenn and Liz are super nice and very helpful, they were always quick to respond and happy to answer any questions. We will be renting their trailer again very soon! Excellent experience overall.
We rented this camper to house relatives at a family reunion. I had never even been in a camper before, but Hal thoroughly explained and showed me everything I needed to know. It was extremely clean and had everything we needed. It became one of the highlights of the reunion. The entire family had to go through it to check it out and everyone was impressed. It was a great experience and I would definitely rent it again.
It was our first time renting an RV and Joann with her husband made it very easy and enjoyable for us. They explained everything in detail, we communicated a lot before the trip and pickup / drop off was very smooth. Would definitely rent from them again and recommend them.
