Review:

This camper had everything we needed for our family reunion vacation. Sarah and Bryan delivered the camper for us and picked it up after our vacation ended. This was especially nice because we were traveling from out of state and had no way to tow it to our camping destination. The camper was clean and in excellent working order. The owners were wonderful to work with and we kept in touch through the entire process. We will definitely request to rent from them again in the future.

Review:

Winnebago 34H on a Freightliner chassis, diesel. The truck is in fantastic shape for it’s age and has been meticulously maintained. This is a roomy unit, two opposing leather couches in the LR. The galley features convection/micro combo and a full sized fridge standard 3 burner w/ oven and a double sink. MBR has an oversized memory foam (comfortable) mattress and abundant closet space. The RV’s owner was consistent and communicative through the expierence. He’s very reasonable and, helpful in assisting with the nuances of this lovely RV.

It was a great experience from the beginning and all the way to the time we brought Harvey back. Harvey was packed with everything that we could possibly need (other than clothes, toiletries, and food) even a fire poker for those evening campfires. Our family of 4 had plenty of space and enjoyed every minute we spent with Harvey. Thank you very much Kathleen and Dave for sharing Harvey with us. The Breault's

This was our first time renting and staying in a pop-up trailer. The model was older however the very spacious and easy to setup. The pickup and drop off process was smooth. The listing indicated that it included a 12V battery, however when we got to the campsite and realized that there are no electrical hookups, the battery wasn't working, which was frustrating.

Review:

This is listed as sleeping 6 people. I'm not quite sure how starcraft or the owner was counting. There is one queen sized bed that opens out on one side. There is a twin bed that opens on the other side and one more twin bed that can be converted from the dining area. If you don't want to convert the dining table every night then this is a 3 person(adult) pop up. This was not a great layout for me. The dining table was in the way and we moved it up against one of the seating areas so we could move around the table. I could never get the refrigerator to work. I own a pop up in another state and know that they can be tricky with lighting the LP gas. Once you do get it lighted though the gas works great. Unfortunately for me, the gas never lit and we bought ice to keep our food cool. The owner is a very nice person, but communication was not always clear and we had some problems. There were two batteries included with the trailer which actually didn't help with the refrigerator and when we first arrived at our campsite we had to remove the batteries from the hitch area to actually open up the trailer. I consider moving the batteries and dealing with the uncooperative strap holding the batteries upon arrival a real inconvenience and blow to our setting up the tent. The owner did remedy the battery problem after I had arrived. Unfortunately, both batteries were stolen while I left the trailer overnight at the camp ground in between two different camp sites. The insurance that you are required to buy from rvshare does NOT take care of that kind of thing. The insurance is for roadside emergencies. If you are interested in renting this trailer I would be very clear about everything to avoid any possible misunderstandings. I would ask for compensation if you can't use the LP gas to use the refrigerator unless there is AC available. I stayed at a primitive camp site that did not have AC.

The RV itself met our needs perfectly. However, the rest of the experience? Not so much... 1 month prior to the reservation: I asked if 11A would be ok to pick-up the RV and was told that should be fine. 3 days prior to the reservation: I reached out to confirm, was told 11A is too early and 1P would be better but that George would text me in the morning to confirm. Day of the reservation: I live about an hour away and hadn't heard anything by the time I left, so I reached out to confirm. At that point George said he would meet us closer to 330P (mind you, I was already en route with a 7yo and dog in the car). I was irritated but understand things come up, so we killed a couple hours (which was interesting since it was a 90+ degree day and the dog was with us). When we headed to the address to get the trailer, I reached out to let George know we were ~15 minutes away but didn't hear back. I then reached out when we arrived, at which point he said it would be another half hour but we could start hitching the truck up to the RV. HOWEVER, when we opened the gate, we were greeted by a Bobcat and a mound of crushed stone directly in front of the RV, so couldn't hitch up. At this point, George called and mentioned that he could drop the RV off at the site if needed, but that it would be much later that evening. Without a guaranteed time, I shared my concern about not having a place to put our 4 kids to bed--George said he understood and we abandoned that plan. When George arrived and opened the RV, he mentioned he had planned to get there earlier in the week to empty/clean it but hadn't been able to. SO, while we waited for the landscapers to come move the stone and Bobcat, I helped unload the RV... When we were finally all set to leave (just before 6P), we noticed the registration sticker on the RV license plate expired in 2015. George said he had the sticker/paperwork in his car...at his house in a different town. George said he would email it to us in case we ran into any issues. Thankfully we didn't run into any problems because he never sent the email. We arrived at the camp @ about 730P and it quickly became apparent the black water tank hadn't been emptied--or at least not fully--after the last trip. As a nurse, I deal with plenty of unpleasant substances on a regular basis, but emptying a tank of someone else's (literal) crap after being made to wait around all day isn't exactly how I like to kick off a vacation. I'm not generally one to complain since we are all human and I understand even the best laid plans sometimes go awry. However, I was still bothered a couple days later so I reached out to George to let him know about the black water tank and ask for some sort of recompense given the issues that had come up. He said he took issue with all of my points except the delay, but agreed to pick the RV up from the camp (~an hour away). I appreciated that he agreed to pick up the RV but, given his minimally-apologetic attitude, wouldn't reserve from him again in the future. If issues such as these wouldn't bother you, then go for it--the RV fit our needs.

As far as vacations with the family goes, renting an RV from Dave and Kathleen was absolutely the right decision. 8 of us needed to experience the northeast and we had so much fun spending quality time together. Renting the RV through RVshare is equivalent to the airbnb for homeowners. The rental process was easy and Dave and Kathleen went out of their way to ensure we knew what we needed to know for a safe and pleasant trip. The RV itself had enough room for all of us and was a very comfortable drive. THe RV is very well equipped - we only needed to bring our own food, everything else was included (linens, towels, I mean everything). We downloaded several apps to help us find places to sleep at night as we were on the road most of the time. Once we figured out how to use the map apps for RVs, where to sleep and where to shower while you are on the road, everything went smoothly. The family has gone back to South Africa, but we still cling to the fun memories of the road trip. All this would not have been possible, had it not been for Harvey! Thanks Kathleen and Dave. We hope to rent it again some day...

Dan and his wife were awesome, and really made our rental go very smoothly! It was our first time trailering an RV of this size, and Dan went above and beyond to deliver the RV to us at our house and then spent a good amount of time walking us through it top to bottom. This was really helpful and got us confident that we could trailer it safely and then operate it at our destination. At the site, everything was super simple as well and the Prowler has everything you need, even for a family of five. It was clean and very comfortable and when we had any questions, Dan was super responsive to anything we needed. We would highly recommend this to anyone who is considering a camping trip!
