2004 Jayco Granite Ridge

Review:

This was perfect for our trip. We traveled over 1,000 miles with no problem. John was awesome when it came to explaining how to set up and do everything and made himself available while we were on our trip to answer any questions we had. The size was great as it gave us space from our small kids and was perfect for nap time too. The huge water tank was also a great bonus for showering us all after a dusty day when we were dry camping. I would recommend this RV and would use again.

This review is a mixed bag... we rented for 10 days to travel around the national parks in CO. We rented 3 months out of our reservation, which was plenty of time to have the RV ready to go - however, it was not as advertised. And I don't mean aesthetically - I mean functionally. Aside from the kitchen wear not being stocked, and the trash still needing removal, we ran into a list of problems, that truly could have been fixed before we borrowed it. For one, we rented on the premise that the generator would run (so we could camp primitively, away from RV parks) and we were granted unlimited generator usage. We got 30 minutes out of it, and had to re-route our trip to include multiple RV parks just so we could keep our phones/cameras charged, and to keep the pesky, fast-draining battery in the RV charged. When it would get low, the CO2 alarm would automatically go off, which would always happen when deep asleep, at 2,3,4 AM. The water tanks were not full, nor ready to be filled, so when we first went to fill up, all the water drained out the bottom of the RV. Then we dismantled the bed, to shut the winterizing valves, and thought we were in the clear. We went to fill up again, and water was leaking from the holding tank, AS we were filling because the connection pipes were loose. We ended up fixing this, but for $1200, I would expect something like this to be taken care of. The kitchen faucet leaked pretty bad when it was on, so washing dishes was more messy than it was clean, and very wasteful of the precious, limited amount of water you can store. The oven worked 100% The shower head leaks pretty bad, which causes water to go out of the shower space, and onto the floor. The fridge began to freeze everything halfway through the trip. There was plenty of space for 3 people (1 couple, and 1 single). If this RV were road-ready, and we didn't have these major hiccups - I would totally recommend it. It had no problem on the road, the space is appropriate. It's used, but in good enough condition to 'glamp'. The owners were nice & communicative. The RV was just not ready for us. For a weekend trip, I would have looked past it all - but we rented for 10 days, flew from ATL to Denver, and put down $1200 just for the RV rental. That doesn't include gas, park reservation, food, etc. I was deeply disappointed by these issues, as it distracted us from our vacation. Did we see beautiful sights, and have a good time? Of course! We made the best of a crappy situation, because the alternative was to ruin our trip - and we didn't invest that much money to do that. The owner gave us $250 back as a refund. Yes, that's money back, but it didn't feel like it compensated us for everything that was wrong. Like I said, we rented on the premise that we would be able to camp away from hookups, neighbors, and modern consciences. We wanted to go rural - but because of the generator, and the multi-day water troubles - we were forced to stay in RV parks. And without reservation, that became tricky, and cost prohibitive. We spent well over $250 in just RV park costs alone, so the refund was like a bandaid. I appreciated their honesty, but I don't feel like we walked away with what we paid for. Therefore, I would not recommend renting this vehicle. Not unless they reduced the price for rental, or gave evident proof that they fixed all these issues.

Troy and his business partner Eric were both very easy to communicate with. Early in the process Troy answered all of my questions. We chatted through text, email and telephone. All were easy and efficient. We were driving 14 hours to pick up the trailer and Troy & Eric were seamless with timing of the pick up. We had to learn some new things (sway bars, additional brake systems) and both helped us understand easily. The trailer was comfortable for my family of 4. I was cooking each night for six and this trailer was set up great for that. We took the trailer to the Mighty Five in Utah. We pulled it with a 2011 Ford Explorer. No troubles at all. It was a FANTASTIC vacation. I am so pleased with There's Smore to Life but also with RV Share. What a great way to see the country and make memories with your family! Thank you for this fantastic opportunity!!

Mark was awesome with answering all my novice questions. First time towing a trailer and i had a bunch of questions. He was quick to respond and offered help with connectors and hitches. The trailer was incredibly spacious for this style trailer. Warm at night. Cozy mattress. I had the best nights sleep while camping in this trailer. The tent was great for storing our stuff and changing too.

Camper is perfect for one or two people. My husband and I took our dog with us and it was a little tight, but so cozy that it was worth it. Gail takes very good care of her camper and looks out for her guests. She is very flexible and responsive. This is our second time renting the camper and we had a great time!

We had a wonderful experience. Raygon had everything we needed for our trip. She provided sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, paper goods, pots and pans and utensils. She also let us use her camp stove and camp chairs. There were 6 of us and we all had a place to sleep and the RV was in great shape.

This is such a great idea. I had not heard of RVshare before and starting googling for rentals. Found someone geographically close to me for easy pick up and return. Adam was knowledgeable of his camper, made sure I knew how everything worked, that I was comfortable with everything including hooking up everything and hauling the camper. It was clean, everything is in good working order. Very nice. Heat, A/C, frig, bathroom, 3 beds. His camper hauls really nice. I've hauled a lot of different types of things - horse/stock trailers, car haulers, heavy equipment, and you couldn't tell this camper was behind you. Even hit some high winds and it was fine.

Our entire experience of renting Ryan's RV for a New Mexico trip was stress free and very enjoyable. The RV was reliable, easy to drive and very comfortable. Ryan was super flexible and communicated well. Since we're from the Denver area, we just stopped by his place on the way South and left our car at his beautiful property in Woodland Park then continued to 285 from. We're hooked on RV rental experience and would rent this RV again without hesitation.

We had a very good 1st time RV experience. Brittany and Mike were very helpful and informative. The unit is well stocked and any tools were available as needed. All features/amenities worked very well without any hookups...very self contained with one minor exception....would have liked to use our plug-in coffee maker or would have brought a percolator for gas stove top.
