Located right off I-17, Distant Drums RV Resort is a straight shot up to the Grand Canyon. It’s also just south of Flagstaff, a great city worth exploring in itself. The campground is also minutes away from a number of wonderful attractions, including the Sedona Red Rock State Park, Dead Horse Ranch State Park, the Verde Canyon Railroad, and Woodchute Mountain. For something different, take the kids to a real-life safari at Out of Africa Wildlife Park, or spend a day at Montezuma Castle National Monument, the most well-preserved cliff dwellings in all of North America. There’s a nearby casino for the adults, and the RV park is also a convenient drive to the greater Phoenix metro area.
Visiting Arizona’s most unique and treasured monuments and parks is easy from Distant Drums, as is checking out some of its liveliest cities. This park has the facilities of a desert resort with the feel and price range of a more homey, community-oriented park. From a spacious pool area to an air-conditioned exercise room to spotless bathrooms and showers, you’ll feel very comfortable here. It’s a great place to come back to after a long day of hiking and sight-seeing under the hot Arizona sun.
“A wonderfully planned & maintained resort with concrete pads & patio, easy to reach utilities including cable TV. Very close to many great family destinations. Montezuma's Castle is 3 miles away & Out of Africa animal preserve is 5 miles away. The pool & hot tub are on site & very enjoyable. Many restaurants are a short drive. This is a 'must stop' if you are in AZ. Just off I-17.” – John Driessen, Google Review
