Brannan Island State Recreation Area is part of the California Department of Parks and Recreation. It offers a protected area suitable for fishing, water sports, and wildlife viewing. The area is a maze of waterways that run through the Sacramento and San Joaquin River Delta.
This is a great place for windsurfing, wildlife viewing and relaxing in the great outdoors, and Brannan Island State Recreation Area has boat ramps and grassy picnic areas. If you like fishing, you may catch sturgeon, striped bass, bluegill, catfish or perch. Wildlife viewing includes beaver, river otter, muskrat, mink and 76 species of birds.
